"This is a true Swiss lodge at nearly the top of nowhere. The staff is friendly but it helps to have a little German or French. Be sure you specify exactly what you want in a room..like a shower AND toilet, or you may be sharing. You need to be fit enough to walk up to 4 flights with all your stuff. Our top floor room was lovely with 2 comfy twin beds, multiple windows and even a small sleeping loft (for kids?). Pump hand soap was available but if you want bath gel, shampoo, etc, you should bring...

"This property was wonderfully convenient to the bus and train stop…I mean within 2-3 minutes. That was so nice. And it was clean and the door locked and we had the things we needed. Ausserberg was very quiet with nothing going on in the evenings and no restaurants or anything. There was a small grocery spot but it was closed. But, it did have cool old buildings. Wonderful little balcony we could sit out on. The price was right. We enjoyed our stay. But…there was no one un sight. They...

"The biggest disappointment was the distance from Zermatt, our destination. It took us 3 hours one way- 2 buses and 2 trains to change to reach our destination. This results in loss of precious time for travellers, who have a tight schedule. Point de Zinal SHOULD NOT be displayed as a property in Zermatt. It is misleading- EXPEDIA to note please"

"Nice little appartment without a view of the mountain (view on parking lot). Very clean but cooking tools (wine opener, most cooking utensils, scissors etc...) needs replacement. Clearly used as a rental. Quite loud appartment building with soundproofing not very efficient. Size of appartment ok for 2-3 ppl maximum."

"The hotel is owned and operated by a charming family. They are very welcoming with good advice about local events and history. The breakfast room has an amazing view of the town and the mountains. The variety of choices at breakfast is generous. Included in the B & B rate is free admission to the thermal spas including locker rentals and a Leukerbad Visitor's Pass which provides additional discounts to ski lifts, buses, etc and free admission to local cultural events. "There is a large covered outside dining areas which is beautiful to sit out on even in the rain. The only deficiencies I found were there is no lift (if you have heavy suitcases) and there was nowhere in the shower to put your shampoo/body wash. "

Wonderful little balcony we could sit out on. The price was right. We enjoyed our stay. But…there was no one un sight. They cleaned our rooms each day but we never saw anyone and there is no front desk. There looked like there might be a spot to grill or sit out front but there were a few rough loud men (employees?) that sat there every evening and morning and were kinda loud and cigarette smoke wafted up into our room through the windows every. That kinda bothered me. It made me feel like we could not go down there."
