"Just a 30 second walk to Piazza Bra and no more than a couple of minutes to the Arena, this small hotel has great rooms equipped with everything you would expect; the staff are very friendly and helpful and is so convenient for exploring Verona and beyond. Our friends all stayed elsewhere in the city (we booked at different times) - we are all coming back to Verona and we all hope to stay at the Torcolo!"

"Katia and her brother were great hosts! They were extremely helpful with excellent tips and always happy to help and answer any questions. Location is great, 1 min walk from the bus station (4 stops from train station) and just across from Castelvecchio. 8 min walk to city center, super close to the arena. Not typical hotel, small bathroom, simple breakfast (included) and there’s some cigarette smell in the hallway. However, these are really small inconveniences. I will definitely go back for...

"Hotel Scalzi is a beautiful hotel. Our room (and the whole hotel) was very clean and comfortable. All the staff we met were very friendly. Breakfast was good and on a nice day you can sit outside in the courtyard. The only issue was the wall adjoining the next room was quite thin and we were woken up when they came in (we could hear their conversation and TV)."

"The location was amazing for getting around Verona--we were in the middle of it all BUT coming home each night to sleep was a bit of a nightmare. The bed was EXTREMELY firm--hardly better than sleeping on the floor. The curtains had cigarette burns in then, the decor was quite dated, and there was lipstick left on the glass in the cabinet. "A simpke hotel but very comfortable with large room. Friendly staff. The only weak point is that the hotel is a bit far away by walk. But regular busses commute to the historical centre. Highly recommended! "
