"When we arrived they didn’t have our booking which was worrying but luckily they had a room for us. The room itself is incredibly basic and the bed is very hard. The communal area is quite nice overlooking the lake and there is tea and coffee available. Good location walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops etc. The service wasn’t brilliant, the staff kept themselves to themselves and made you feel like you were in the way a little. I guess you get what you pay for with this place! "

"So, after having such nice welcomes.everywhere I've ever been in Thailand, here was a bit of a shock. There is no real welcome and interaction comes across at best nonplussed, at worst rude. But if you come prepared for that and you have a room on the raft, they are lovely and are good value for the price. Once you get over the lack of interaction with anyone.... It's great! The view from the river are really lovely to wake up to."

While the accommodations are somewhat modest, it was very comfortable and was in a perfect location! 5 minute walk to the bus station and a 15 minute walk to the river. Wat Tham Suea sits on top of a hill surrounded by rice fields overlooking the River Kwai. We rented a motorbike for the day and drive out here from our guesthouse. It was well worth the drive. There are beautiful paintings, a giant Buddha, and gorgeous views.
