"This was pretty close to a perfect island vacation that I could imagine. The resort is small but we didn't get a sense of cabin fever. There are 3 pools and a nice stretch of beach with great snorkeling right there. Daily activities including snorkel by boat, guided hikes on surrounding islands, fishing, etc helped ensure there was always something to do. "I cannot say enough good things about my time at this resort. It definitely exceeded all of my expectations. The location is beautiful, the meals were good, the room (beachfront villa) was amazing and the staff were wonderful. "However very hard to get to, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days on the island. It was quiet and safe and we felt very much at peace in our bure, thus the added bonus of its inaccessibility to the noisy public. The Fijian staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. If there was a negative it would be the food/cooking quality. The breakfasts were outstanding but the buffet-style dinners and lunches were too bland and overcooked and became repetitive! "

"When you book they will tell you that this is not a resort but it is really good. Did not understand why they wrote that to me. You have a huge house just for yourself with amazing garden or beach view. "Overall, I would give them 4.5 stars (but Hotels.com forces integers!). The only thing to keep in mind when visiting Nabua Lodge is that they find it a bit hard to keep track of allergen information - my wife has a gluten allergy and we had to keep reminding them of this. In addition, they didn't have our allergy information despite having sent them this information with our booking. However, this was the only negative about Nabua Lodge. Everything else was fantastic. "Nice coral reef reached by kayak. They provide the layak for free. Friendly people. They offer nice activities like blue lagoon, I-sawa cave, reef hopping ect. See in the picture. We had a great evening with kava drink. The food is 100$Fijian/day. 50$/kid. (Breakfast, lunch, tea time and dinner). Water all day. We walked up to the hill for the sunset and was a beautiful landscape view."

"We loved absolutely everything about Oarsman's Bay Lodge-the beach, accommodation, surroundings, activities, food and especially the staff. We went to 2 other islands afterwards, and realised how spoilt we'd been at OBL. It was everything we'd dreamed of, and a lot more. Thank you to ALL the staff, who were like family. We had the holiday of a lifetime, and will definitely be back. This is the place for the true Fiji experience. Cannot give a higher review or recommendation. Thanks team OBL."

"Very simple but extremely good. If you do not mind to have cold shower and just have electricity for 3 hours ir is the perfect place to stay. The island is the most beautiful place that I have been. The staff are very friendly and they make you feel at home. I will learn a lot abou the Fijian culture. "

"We enjoyed the island, it was beautiful. The food was good and plentiful but got fed the same things over and over. We knew what to expect from a homestay but we found that there was nothing to do except snorkle without paying for activity fees. So bring lots of cash! We expected to be asked for school donation and we did, but was not ok with being asked for donating to their family directly. We felt that paying for the homestay fee and for the activities was sufficient. But it was uncomfortable to be constantly told how much money they needed (this was just one individual doing this) Most everyone else was lovely. So try it out but be aware. Oh... and there was no kava ceremony or cultural activities unless you request and pay. "
