"Hotel Esperides is a lovely quiet hotel on the main road just across from the road into Myrtos, a quiet tourist town on the southern coast of Crete. Wonderful breakfast for 9 euros per person, with large assortment of foods. Small elevator available. Very accommodating when we arrived early from the ferry to Heraklion, Crete; we were able to purchase breakfast even before check in, and they got 2 rooms ready for us an hour or so before their usual check in time. "Very nice hotel for the price. Some nice restaurants nearby. Only issue we had was the number of stray cats around the hotel, who can be too friendly and don't give you any piece when lounging around the pools. It's not pleasant to be sunbathing when a cat jumps on you and sticks their claws into you!!"

"The rooms are somewhat basic, but there is nothing missing. If anything, that adds to the summer feeling of spending all day at the beach - which is so close - and returning to an uncomplicated room in the evening. Very clean and the staff is very friendly. Some things do need a bit of maintenance (example, the toilet flush was leaking, so we had to turn it shut each time etc) but nothing really significant. I would gladly go back or recommend it to friends who are looking for an easy-going...

"When we checked in, despite having booked three months before and paid we were asked to pay again. We were a party of two couples and one room did not have WiFi and nothing was or could be done about this.The lift was small and could take two people with bags only but the venue was spectacular and the parking and access excellent."
