"As a solo traveler, I love to stay here. It’s very centrally located and the rooms are comfortable. I usually only stay a couple days in Amsterdam so the Hotel Van Gelder is a great choice. If you want a simple stay and don’t need a lot then I highly recommend staying here. Good prices and nice staff. "

"It was quite for the most part, some of the tenants were noisy, but it is what it is. The front desk was helpful as they could be. The downside, housekeeping services took my personal towel, and the front desk made amends by giving me a free breakfast on the day I was checking out. Overall a wonderful experience and I wouldn't hesitate to book there again."

"Loved it! A room in Amsterdam with a balcony?! AMAZING. Beds were super soft. They cleaned/gave fresh towels and bedding everyday! 24/7 reception. Stairs are fine- clearly people haven’t stayed in other Amsterdam hotels before- as the stairs are typical for an old Amsterdam building. Shower was perfect. Could do with a lick of paint and some minor cosmetic bits to the room but honestly prefer it the way it is. A proper Amsterdam hotel"
