"The motel itself very nice .. clean, friendly staff, good breakfast but being away from city centre no buses after 8 p.m. no clear timetables and receptionist said bus from verona to hotel all night but not true. Had to take raxi at € 15 (already paid for bus tickets). Also shower head holder in room broken but they fixed when reported."

"Katia and her brother were great hosts! They were extremely helpful with excellent tips and always happy to help and answer any questions. Location is great, 1 min walk from the bus station (4 stops from train station) and just across from Castelvecchio. 8 min walk to city center, super close to the arena. Not typical hotel, small bathroom, simple breakfast (included) and there’s some cigarette smell in the hallway. However, these are really small inconveniences. I will definitely go back for...

"Hotel Scalzi is a beautiful hotel. Our room (and the whole hotel) was very clean and comfortable. All the staff we met were very friendly. Breakfast was good and on a nice day you can sit outside in the courtyard. The only issue was the wall adjoining the next room was quite thin and we were woken up when they came in (we could hear their conversation and TV)."

"We only booked for 1 night but fell in love w this beautiful and quiet place we stayed 2 extra nights. We enjoyed traveling Lake Garda in 1 day and passed on Verona to explor the incredible hills above Nagrar. The owner spoiled us rotten, great breakfast and restauranr next door outstanding. Showers could be a little bigger, but over all an incredible place. "

"The location was amazing for getting around Verona--we were in the middle of it all BUT coming home each night to sleep was a bit of a nightmare. The bed was EXTREMELY firm--hardly better than sleeping on the floor. The curtains had cigarette burns in then, the decor was quite dated, and there was lipstick left on the glass in the cabinet. The room may have been cleaned prior to our stay but it still felt like a skeevy hotel. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone else--pay the...

A great 2 star hotel that should be rated as a high 3 star. 10 minutes from Verona; free parking in court yard; friendly family run hotel; the room was very clean and roomy; breakfast was fantastic! Momma's pies were beyond delicious!!!"
