"Hotel Amavi was absolutely beautiful! The staff was friendly and informative. Very clean with the most comfortable beds. Location was great, just a few minutes walk to the beach with a couple of bars and a cute restaurant called Mahi Mahi you could just walk up to and order the most delicious food and sit right there on the beach and eat! "Stayed in Jaco for a weekend. The staff at the hotel was extremely nice and made for a comfortable stay. The room itself is nice, modern, and clean. The pool was a decent size.The location was also so perfect, just a 2 minute walk to the beach, and about a 15 minute to the center of Jaco. Loved my stay!"

"The hotel is showing its age. The beds were rock hard. The room and bathroom were clean but had some visible damage. No AC or television in room. Staff were civil to guests. Guest parking is awkward but secure. The overall neighborhood is rather creepy. "

"When we checked in, from outside we thought it would not be a good clean place but we were wrong. The room was very clean. Property was down the strip away from all the traffic and noise but walkable to general tourist area strip. The beach is around the corner. They have a lobby with microwave and fridge that can be used. Plan your day because they will not allow earlier check in than 2pm. We were willing to pay an extra fee but check in time was firm although we’re were the only tourist there....

"They seemed like a great family but no AC or hot water, shared bathroom and shower with 6 other rooms. Fruit fell from the tree hitting the metal roof which made it impossible to sleep much. It was not at all a good experience. It was a room with an old bed and a bench and book shelf with a fan but it stayed hot. The boat tour was nice."

"Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. Lots of monkeys, and beautiful birdwatching. 253 steps down to a secluded beach where we had breakfast and we’re given various choices of cuisine. Isla Tortuga was awesome with Juan as a guide.
