"Such a unique experience, little brightly painted individual casitas with bed toilet and sink, shower and little fridge. The only issue we had was the temperature of the shower water - which was Luke warm at best - in fairness we were not on site a lot and didn’t ask our host about it. Daily breakfast ( fruit and a type of bread and a carafe of coffee was brought to our door each day) and access to 2 separate kitchen huts to bring our own food to and cook if we wanted. "Absolutely stunning ocean and mountain views. The staff was incredibly friendly and were onsite until 10pm every night. They were always helpful. There is a beautiful community patio with an infinity pool, but no bar or restaurant. The place has a close relationship with the resort LaPonza at the bottom of the hill which has a tasty restaurant, bar, massage services and access to the nearby lagoon with free kayaks. I wouldn’t swim in the water. It has a dirty feed stream. Now for the tough part....

"This is a great little boutique hotel but it's a bit tired. There is no front desk and communication is by WhatsApp. It worked out ok. The room was pretty worn down - some electrical outlets didn't work, there was a coffee machine but no coffee. The kettle didn't work. The housekeeper did correct these deficiencies which was great. The water pressure was dismal, even by local standards. It's along walk into Totos Santos - I'd stay again if I could get a good price. "

"I loved staying at Casa Arena! The studio is new, very spacious, and had everything I needed for my stay. The Welcome Book included great recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities like hiking and yoga, and it's just a 5 minute walk to the beach! It was so nice to wake up to the sounds of birds in the morning. As a woman traveling alone I appreciated that the complex where the studio is located is secure - I felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again!"
