"Decent, basic accommodations. Close to Hiway but no traffic noise. Otherwise quiet (but not a busy time). Free basic breakfast. My only complaint would be a seasonal issue, but one must walk around the outside to get to lobby/breakfast from room, and there was both snow and very slick ice (from roof dripping). A lawsuit waiting to happen? "

"This property is meticulously maintained, especially considering its age, and all the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This stay was a convenient location to join family that was staying on a houseboat. We feel like we got what we paid for and did not have high expectations. " This is my favorite place to stay. I have been staying here since the early 2000s and have stayed at least 10 times (if not more). The Inn is beautifully and meticulously restored keeping with the time-period of the building but adding modern conveniences such as excellent water pressure, comfortable beds, and many other amenities. The owners are so warm and welcoming. I recommend the Mercantile Inn to everyone I know. "
