"This was the first stop after 600 miles driving only to find the hotel locked up. I had seen that the Restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday (from their own website, but not Hotels.com) one of the reasons for choosing this hotel, but did not expect the Hotel to be closed. "Beautiful serene location. Very quiet room with garden outlook, non too spacious but OK. Bed firm . Bath only in room with hand held shower & no shower screen. Welcome far from welcoming, so quick & abrupt. No elevator. Wifi good. Large car park. Dinner in restaurant was a good meal. Please ask cleaning staff to do something about their body odour, most unpleasant!"

"The hotel was not what we were expecting from the website. It was in a poor area and appeared rather run down. We were expecting a restaurant but was told on arrival that it is closed in the winter, breakfast only. However the owner took pity on us and provided a three course meal in our room which was very good. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Owner was very nice but we will not be using this hotel again."
