"We enjoyed our stay at the El Mirador. The staff is nice and helpful. They go out of there way to help and provide assistance. The owner is kind, friendly and works hard. Breakfast is good, coffee is hot and fresh. We stayed in one night and had a nice dinner on site at the pool side, lots of dinner choices. The views are spectacular and the grounds are kept clean and well maintained. Lot's to see in and around Ometepe. We would go back anytime! "

"Overrated, not worth the 9.0 suberb rating. Nice pool, nice location on the beach. Be sure to ask for a room with hot water if that matters, few rooms have hot water. Our waiter Junior was excellent and helped us with scooter and taxi reservations. However no housekeeping at all over three nights, showerhead was clogged, porch light very dim. "The family who owns this budget no frills hotel gave us outstanding treatment from beginning to end. Of course on an island there are many insects so we used nets above the beds. The room is simple, without AC but there are several fans which helped cool us off at night.
