"Upon arrival, I was informed that the dorm I booked for was going under construction so I had to pay a bit more for a single room. Room was dirty and humid. Towels were stained. Everything smelled terrible. Even restaurant in the facility had no available menu beside some instant ramen noodle. Far from everything. Terrible. "

"If I could give the family alone 5 stars, I would. They invited us to join them for dinner each night (for 150k each) and it was a very nice experience! They also helped to arrange a trek through the area and a car back to Sapa town when it was time for us to leave. But anyone who is planning to visit in the winter should be warned that it is very cold and the home does not have heat which made it rather uncomfortable. Luckily, the days were sunny which helped but the nights were very cold....

"Lovely homestay, conveniently located few minutes away from the village, with amazing views. The family dinner home cooked every night is delicious. Only downside: people were FREEZING and the owners didn't have more blankets. When the entire hostel is super cold, maybe it's a sign to buy more blankets and leave some of them in common areas šŸ˜"

"Was it really a homestay if they have european toilets and shower plus no interaction between homeowner and guest?
