It was advertised that there was a restaurant and even on a chalkboard outside, there were daily specials written but we were told there was no food for purchase. This was a challenge given the remote location of the hostel and that restaurants closed very early. We did find a grocery store that closed at 7pm. "I really enjoyed my time at Kakure-Yado Yuji-inn - Hostel. The staff is really like a family and they are really inviting. Like my title says, the hostel is very close to Kurashiki - So the Ohara Art Museum, Kurahsiki Ivy Square, etc. I will say that the hostel is actually in a narrow alley. But the area is super safe, so I wouldn't worry too much about it! (This is more so a heads up when you're looking for it for the first time.) But yeah - A great hostel; I would certainly recommend it."

"The host Kaito san, is very helpful and was ever ready to help us with our queries/problems, etc. The place is pretty new and the rooms are therefore clean and bright. No towels are provided though, and the host should consider providing it as part of the amenities."
