Chesa Sur En has been our family’s winter and summer holiday home for more than 50 years; we proudly welcome new and returning guests who appreciate our well-appointed and thoughtfully updated 3-bedroom, 1-bath apartment.
The open living room with spacious sofas and dining area in traditional Swiss stone pine features a large panorama window and balcony with breathtaking views of the mountains rising above the Inn river. A pass-through from the newly renovated kitchen (all new surfaces, cabinets, fittings and appliances) allows for a convivial atmosphere; or if you prefer, the kitchen can be completely closed off from the other rooms. Each bedroom is furnished with a table and chairs, allowing guests to retreat and relax after an active day in the fresh mountain air or, as the case may be, to catch up on work. The two larger bedrooms also have their own wash-basin and mirror.
Active guests appreciate the cross-country, hiking and biking trails in immediate proximity to the apartment; downhill skiers can walk to the lifts in 15 minutes or take the free ski-shuttle which stops across the road. The golf course, village main square, train station, restaurants and shops can be comfortably reached by foot. You can park directly in front of the house, or use our space in a covered parking garage approx. 300 meters away. We are more than happy to give you tips about the area, and speak German, English and French.

Winter: At the Ski areas of Corviglia/Piz Nair, Corvatsch, Diavolezza /Lagalb and Zuoz, as well as the smaller but charming areas, skiers and snowboarders find pistes waiting to be explored. Clip on a pair of narrow cross-country skis to experience an extraordinary sense of freedom as you glide across the endless white expanses of the Engadin. Whether you prefer the elegant classic or more dynamic skating style, you will find that Nordic Skiing acquires a new dimension. Summer: The high valley of the Engadin, with its exceptionally diverse network of trails is a dream destination for hikers. The contrasts that are so characteristic of this region are bewitching. The sun-blessed Engadin offers families a very special experience of the mountain simmer. In fact, there’s so much to discover. An inspiring sense of space, magical light, rugged landscapes, idyllic views, endless options: The region offers an unrivalled playground for mountain bikers.

What mountains. What lakes. What light! Whether on the 580km (360 miles) of hiking paths strewn over all the mountains or by mountain bike along 400km (250 miles) of fabulous trails: the Upper Engadin offers a superb network of paths and trails amidst an unspoilt Alpine landscape and the inspiring lake plateau. Four flow trails on the Corviglia guarantee a perfect flow. Equally popular among sports enthusiasts are the Upper Engadin lakes; kiting, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling – the possibilities are virtually endless. The expanse of the inspiring high-lying valley can be experienced in a particularly striking way on the two 18-hole golf courses in Samedan and Zuoz. And besides the wide range of sporting options, visitors can take advantage of the first-class cultural activities on offer, such as a visit to a museum or to one of the numerous art galleries in the various villages.
In winter, the ski areas of Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza and family friendly Zuoz invite ski and snowboard enthusiasts to revel in 350 kilometres (218 miles) of the finest powder snow. Cross-country skiers will find over 220km (137 miles) of perfectly groomed trails in the Upper Engadin and the side valleys. The winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes are characterised by their light, sunshine and space amidst inspiring Alpine scenery. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths. Visitors who prefer to have everything in view, meanwhile, will delight in the breathtaking vistas on the panorama hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.
Families can bask in the Engadin sun during a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into the Val Roseg or Val Fex, or race down the mountainside into the valley on the winding, 4.2km (2.6 mile) long toboggan run on Muottas Muragl.

Location description: Zuoz – customs and traditions in the idyllic mountain village
Zuoz is regarded as the most beautiful village in all of the Upper Engadin. Numerous patrician houses, such as the Chesa Planta, proudly display their typical oriel windows and sgraffiti façade decorations, while mysterious alleyways invite visitors to discover Zuoz’s eventful past. Meanwhile, a modern splash of colour is provided by a beautifully laid-out 18-hole golf course, an inline skating route and a varied network of hiking and mountain biking trails. A particular highlight in Zuoz is a visit to Badilatti, the highest-lying coffee-roasting plant in Europe. In winter, the cross-country ski trails of the Engadin Ski Marathon run directly past the village, while the family-friendly ski area offers skiing fun for all ability levels.
