Arriving at our main street, enter the Gated Community of Silverleaf. Our neighborhood is all gravel. For those not use to mountain roads, note that our roads are wider than many other mountain getaways we looked at purchasing in. Road courtesy is to allow the cars coming UP the mountain to have the ability to keep moving forward for continued momentum, so if you are coming down you pull off to the side on the nearest wide spot used for this very thing.

The cabin will be the first driveway on the right once you reach our street. The covered front porch and wrap-around deck promise true relaxation surrounded by nature and the soothing sound of a neighboring rushing creek. Numerous windows allow natural light and views of wildlife and nature from every room.
🏔️🌠
Step inside to a spacious living room with stacked stone gas fireplace – and well equipped for electronic entertainment (HDTV, 53 cable channels, DVD, and new Sound Bar.) You will also find a collection of board and card games, DVDs, kids’ books and toys in the cabin available for your use and Free WIFI.

The Rustic table for 8 in the dining room and seats for 3 at kitchen bar. Nicely appointed kitchen with all of the necessities – as well as a few fun extras like a French press for the coffee connoisseurs, a blender (smoothie or Margarita anyone?) and flip Belgian waffle maker.

Enjoy the nicely furnished "BEAR" Bedroom featuring an outstanding view of the sunrise over Rich Mountain 🌄as well as the side deck and hot tub. Serta perfect Queen bed. Extra blankets and pillows in each closet for cuddling near the fireplace, on the deck or just for extra cozy on those cold winter nights. The "Moose" bedroom also boasts second new Serta Perfect. A linen closet with extra sheets and towels, a stacked washer and dryer to allow you to pack lighter so you have more time for fun.... Let the clothes wash and dry at our place while you are out hiking around the cabin!

During the warmer months we love to eat all meals on the deck. Patio umbrella under the bedroom on the left. Enjoy a sit in the rocking chairs on the front and others on the side at the table. During Winter, grab a hot chocolate or cider and cozy up to the gas fireplace – or step outside and luxuriate in the four-person HOT TUB! Featuring soothing jets, headrest and LED lights in multiple colors to suit your every mood. Wonderful private feel facing Rich Mountain at sunset. Especially invigorating in the cold night air, hot water bubbling and steam rising and snow falling all round....

Cabin sits on 1.24 acres, but the views stretch for miles. Hiking trails begin right at the front door to Rich Mountain 🏔️ and surrounding area.

Also available are: skiing ⛷️, snow tubing, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, and restaurants. The smaller Valley Grocery is 5 minutes away – a larger Food Lion grocery store is 13 minutes away in Mountain city or Ingles Grocery is 15 minutes and Publix 23 minutes away. Visit Boone, Banner Elk, Vilas, and Todd for restaurants and shopping. Find our personal favorite local attractions in the Welcome Book.

*** FOR WINTER BOOKINGS * Due to higher than normal Snow and Ice projected for 2023 - 2024 season we are trying to really point out info that has been on our page for 10 seasons but gets overlooked or not taken seriously -

The rest of the year please note we are at 4100 feet as we mentioned before and thus there will be curvy roads and such to get to the cabin. **this is due to a recent reviewer that seemed surprised that there may be steep roads **

4 Wheel / All Wheel ** AND ** CHAINS are a must. Please inquire first before direct booking to approve and discuss vehicle.

Amazing!!
We loved everything about this cabin. Theresa was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The views were wonderful and the cabin was just what we needed. The cabin is secluded and quiet but a short drive to anything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub looking out to the mountain, using the grill, going up to the bald, and sitting on the porch taking in the nature. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a nice getaway away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely plan to stay again!!

Heaven on Earth
The cabin is delightful. It is located in a gated community perched high on top with beautiful views. It would be easy to just stay on the balcony all day & sip tea(or wine if you prefer). The VRBO representation is spot on. Yes, anyone who has never experienced mountain roads before is going to be surprised but, in actuality they are prevalent throughout the High Country. The owner is exceptionally helpful & communicative. The location makes so many opportunities accessible..hiking..fishing..day trips...shopping..even TN since you 10 miles from the state line between NC & TN. I would give this property more than excellent if I could!!!!

Check in was a major challenge. I did not have the gate code nor the lock box code. I had to call VRBO customer service to contact home owner. I received a pass code that expired every 15 mins. I have no idea what this code was for? Having used VRBO numerous times this was the most difficult check in to date.

We absolutely loved this gem in the mountains!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed and more. The view from the deck is so beautiful; plus you can hear the gentle rush of water in the distance and the birds chirping in the forest while you soak in the hot tub and and eat at the patio table. We would recommend this cabin and would love to stay again!

Perfect mountain weekend getaway
My stay at the Rich Summit View cabin was perfect! I wanted to spend a long, relaxing and quiet weekend in the mountains for my birthday and this was the perfect place for my trip. The cabin was so cozy, clean and had everything I needed. The view from the cabin is even better in person, and I spent most of the time reading, having coffee or dinner by the fire while the snow fell outside. It was like a hallmark movie! The hot tub while the snow came in was a huge plus too! I can’t wait to come back again - thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me!

We had the best time during our stay. What ended up being a Christmas gift for the kids to go snow tubing at Hawksnest ended up being a whole weekend long of snow ! Theresa and Wendy were very accomodating when it came to the winter storm and made sure we had everything we needed. The views were amazing especially when the snow was falling. The cabin was just perfect for our family and dog. We will definitely be coming back to stay~

Great location
We had a great time. everything we needed was there and even more than enough towels for the 3 kids. The internet worked well, we did not have phone reception, which was expected. You get used to the road, it’s like most mountain roads. Owners and management are easy to talk to. You can tell they take pride in their cabin as it was very clean, which is awesome. We didn’t have any issues communicating with them. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay, it was the perfect place if you wanted to have a quite getaway with a great view. Not too far from restaurants, shopping but far enough to be away from it all. Very cozy, well maintained and private. I highly recommend this location but have a vehicle that can handle the steep but well maintained privatedirt/gravel road.

Incredible views in cozy cabin, gated neighborhood
Had a fantastic time renting here for the weekend! This property is about a 2.5 hr drive from Charlotte and is just past Boone. We have a FW drive SUV and made it to the house just fine. Just need to accelerate a little when you get near the driveway of the house and you’ll be perfect. We hiked to the top of Silverleaf Rd and fell in love with the beautiful mountain views this gated neighborhood has to offer. The neighbors are super friendly - we met a bunch of friendly neighbors during our hike and had full on conversations!! We drove into Boone for dinner on Saturday and experienced zero traffic, such an easy drive over. We were obsessed with the mountain views of this property - drinking a glass of wine in the hottub, staring at the mountains was so incredibly dreamy!!! The house was super clean and the perfect size for me and my fiance, so cozy but still very spacious. Our only feedback would be having a reflector at the end of the driveway, so it’s easier to find (and not miss) when driving up hill to the property. We will definitely be looking to come back in the future!!
