"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. "The hotel is in a beautiful peaceful setting in the countryside on the edge of town. I could only hear birds and insects. The room was comfortable and very clean as was the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and most of the cakes, biscuits and jams were homemade. There were cold cuts and cheese and we were offered bacon and eggs if we wanted them. It is well-placed to visit interesting and pretty places nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful."
