Though we had some delays in checking in because our rooms were not ready yet, the staff were very accommodating, nice, professional, and made sure we received what we needed to be able to rest after a long day of Travel. The place is new and clean. It’s family friendly.

The room was large - king room (rm 2127),i liked the design, very open floor concept and everyone was essentially brand new. Can see under the bed, no blocky furniture. Rock climber design was cool. Stayed 0ct 27-29th. Checked in close to midnight the first night of our stay. Sheet under covers had some dark stain as if it was brushed up against something dirty, decided just to lysol spratly it because we were tired. Saw a roach within the hr and couldn't sleep the rest of the night. Didn't see anything else that night. Notified staff in the morning and they apologized and said they would let maintenance know. Next day, left for the day at around 11amish, went to explore JTNP, had dinner, came back to hotel to rest before driving back out to JTNP for night photography. When we got back to our room at around 8:30pm, we found 5 roaches, all diff sizes, under 4 separate pairs of shoes that we had left on the floor. So disgusting. We stomped/killed them all and text the property to come clean it up. They came and swept/wiped the floor down, apologized, and offered to comp any snacks/drinks we wanted the following morning. Snacks... They also asked if we wanted to get moved to a diff building/room/level. We declined because we had 1 hr to rest before leaving for the night, on our last night there. Staff said that we arrived on the day when the weather shifted to cold weather, and since we were on a floor level room, that the bugs were looking for a place to come and stay warm

This is indeed a unique property. Lodging reimagined. We had a suite with four queen sized mattresses truly comfortable bunk style and a separate room with a king bed, and an outdoor balcony. The outdoor space is wonderfully landscaped from the area around the pool to the courtyard adjacent the front with landscaped cactus and a fire pit to warm up the cool desert night. Probably best of all are the people who make up the staff - Tessa Sasha Amber Michelle John Sandra Shayne and others who double as baristas and go out of their way to make sure all the guests needs are met. Field Station takes ordinary accommodations and makes them extraordinary. No quest we will be back.

the front desk that checked us in needs some customer service training. upon arriving 1 hour past our check in time, she informed us our room was not ready with no apology or explanation. “check in at 4 isnt guaranteed. things happen.” ??? once we eventually got int our room, there were single strands of hair in one of the best. sheets were clearly not changed.

I booked a two night stay, it is on a side road away from the main restaurants and shops. A car is essential, which means designated driver cant have a drink! I arrived late having driven in from LA, the check-in desk was in darkness and was not obvious from the road until I walked in and the light came on. The process was pretty straightforward, but I wasn’t told a key detail, the property doesn’t offer daily house keeping. I came back from my day in Joshua tree to damp towels and an unmade bed. One downer was I found a roach in my room after being in Joshua Tree and couldn’t find anyone around to take care of it. I trappped it under a cup for the team to fix this morning. The decor and amenities are really good and worth a stay. But it was let down by the customer service element. All in all, it did the job.
