I would give it a 4.5 stars if I could. We spent 5 all-inclusive nights at the Royal Cancun. We knew before booking that this was a smaller, quieter resort. We are a family of 5 with two teens and a child. The room was exceptionally comfortable with ample room for us all. It was very clean and housekeeping was thorough during our stay. We loved that they are generous with towels and supplies. They kept our fridge stocked with bottled water and drinks. We found the air conditioning to be very effective but very loud which would disturb sleep at night. We loved the beach. People set out towels to save places REALLY early but we always found beach chairs. We loved the beach bars and ate mainly at the Lapalapa and really enjoyed our meals and variety offered and special touches with decor on themed nights. Our child was hesitant to try the food but there were always things we could order that were more familiar and favorable. There was about a 30 min wait at dinner time if you arrived between 7-8pm, otherwise we didn't wait long to be seated. We all loved the Banana Monkey drinks. Visibility wasn't great for snorkeling but we managed to see some sea life. Some staff were friendlier than others but we always got what we needed when we asked. The pools were enjoyable. We played tennis in the evening. Everything you need for activities is easily available at the sports desk. Our room was next to the adults only resort-music played loudly until 11pm. Loved the resort activities.
