"The hotel had hot springs for the guest to use and the room was large, plenty of space to walk around which is not typical for most Japanese hotels. Room also had plenty of storage space and even had a patio looking over the waterfront. It's not a clear view of the waterfront but it's something. "

"Loved this property. It’s set in such a beautiful location. We choose a room with a private onsen, set on a balcony overlooking the mountain. It was quite an experience soaking in the tub watching the snow come down. The dining experience was great and food was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. "

"Even thought the hotel is old, due to aging city's economy and population decrease, however it was well maintained and clean. Staff was very kind. The view from the hotel room looking at Shimabara castle was fantastic. Location is very convenient, close to the arcade shopping area although most stores weren't operating, close to samurai residential street and carp street. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again. "After missing the last bus and a 30+ minute walk from the station, relaxing a hotel never felt so good. In terms of design, it looked like an older hotel. It was clean and suited my needs. I booked a non-smoking room and the staff did their best to get rid of the smoke smell. However, it was still there after my last night but it didn’t bother me. "
