A lovely welcome
Lovely friendly, very welcoming pub. Great staff that were all very friendly. Fantastic choice of drinks and a nice food menu.5 minutes walk to the York Barbican and York centre. Exceptional breakfast and very reasonable rates. Had a great stay and will return

Lovely place that's usually fully booked. Definitely worth it if you get the chance. Wonderfully accommodating and cosy and great value. The breakfast included was delicious and you could tell it was high quality ingredients. Staff were fantastic

Stayed for one night at Crown and Rose B&B. Room is above pub and dining room but quiet. Room faced the back of the property so noise was minimal. No AC but fan is provided and night was cool. Room is basic but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Nice stay
Really enjoyed our stay, close to the old town, didnt need to use the car at all. A bit of a wait for our meals, but it was worth waiting for. Would definately stay there again.

Mixed feelings about the place… lovely staff, convenient for the city and venues (Barbican in particular). Free car parking, decent breakfast. However the venue is on a main road and the noise is loud pretty much constantly and the property is very dated. I have to say the bed is the most antiquated and uncomfortable we have ever known. So in the most important way, the place is not really somewhere we could consider again.

Room was very comfortable as was the bed. Everything was clean. Even though it was above a pub, it was remarkably quiet. The food at the pub was very good and the full breakfast, made to order, was wonderful!!

Great all round stay
We really enjoyed our 1 night stay and would definitely stay here again. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent. It’s a ten minute walk into the city centre. There is some road noise, but it didn’t spoil our stay.
