In the heart of the delightful market town of Helmsley, this holiday cottage, one of a row, was originally part of the Duncombe Park Estate. Lovingly renovated and furnished to a high standard, it is full of character with exposed beams and stonework, and a south-facing garden in which to enjoy summer evenings overlooking the castle. It makes a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. Nunnington Hall, Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard (13 miles) are close by, and the North York Moors, with spectacular scenery, offers excellent walking and steam railway. Shops and pub 50 yards.

Ideal cottage for our requirements.

Ideal cottage for our requirements. We have visited North Yorkshire on a number of occasions and we found the location perfect to explore all that the area has to offer. The garden was delightful and after a day out we were able to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace. The chiminea was very useful particularly on the chillier evenings. This is an ideal combination; a country cottage in the heart of a lovely market town.

This is an ideal combination; a country cottage in the heart of a lovely market town. All its amenties are on your doorstep and there's no need for a 'nominated driver' when eating out. Helmsley is a great place for exploring the surrounding countryside and its attractions and the town itself is delightful. If you're looking at this property on-line you'll see that there is no off-street parking, but almost opposite is a street where you can park if you return to the cottage before the shops shut and once they have, you can park outside the cottage.

The cottage itself is lovely although we feel that it should be a 3 person cottage as the fourth bed was a metal framed pull out type bed and the second bedroom was very small for 2 people. The cottage is situated on the through road of the village so can be very noisy. There is secondary glazing in the lounge but not in the front bedroom which meant that we were woken by cars and farming vehicles from 5:30am on several days of our stay. As there were 4 of us and some people wanted to stay home whilst others went out we asked the owners for a extra door key as only one was supplied, the owners kindly dropped one off to us within 24hours. Lots of local things to do.

Honeysuckle Cottage is well placed in the Market Town of Helmsley, walking distance to all amenities, such as Restaurants, Shops, Pubs and local sightseeing. Parking the car was no problem just alongside the Cottage. My wife and I have been visiting Helmsley for the past 20 years so, know the area very well. We lived abroad for twelve years and still came to Helmsley for holidays, sometime for stays up to nine weeks during the Christmas season as we didn't get snow where we lived. No one will be disappointed booking Honeysuckle Cottage as the interior is spotless and the garden is terrific and so well kept, (also very private). Highly recommended, we will definately be back !!!!

We had a fantastic time at Honeysuckle cottage. The property itself is beautifully presented, much nicer than the photos, and really well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. We loved the garden (despite being February!), and the kitchen was great and contained every utensil you could possibly need! The location is perfect too, moments on foot from the centre of Helmsley which is a beautiful market town, and close to lots of great day trips. We really hope to be back again soon.
