Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location.
Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. It is a perfect getaway especially for a couple. There is a gorgeous village just over a half a mile away with a lovely old pub which has serves delicious food and has a lovely friendly ambience. Ideal for walking over the moors and Whitby is less than an hour away. The cottage had everything you can possibly need and the owners are so lovely and helpful with everything. The welcome gifts of wine and flowers was such a lovely touch. . We can't wait to return. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage and area. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Judi and Jim have put together a fantastic little cottage in The Wests. Exceptionally well appointed, very cosy, fantastic views, clean beyond belief, idyllic setting and dog friendly - you could want nothing more from a holiday cottage. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A very nice cottage (one of four) on a working farm with an enclosed garden to keep the dog in.
A very nice cottage (one of four) on a working farm with an enclosed garden to keep the dog in. Everything inside the cottage is clean, modern and of good quality. The view from the garden across the moors went on for ever. There is a bistro set and barbecue with enough charcoal for one use. There is a pub about 15 minutes walk away that serves good food (dining room and takeaway) and good beer. However dogs are not allowed in the pub but there is plenty of outside seating. There are pleasant walks from the cottage. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Second time staying at The Wests and we will be back.
Second time staying at The Wests and we will be back. Warm welcome from Judi. Cottage is so warm and cozy. You have all you need for a relaxing stay. Great views from the cottage and easy walking routes straight from the door. Villages are close by with Lastingham 1/2 mile, Hutton le hole 11/4 miles and Appleton le Moors 13/4 miles. All have excellent inns for eating and drinking. The amount of traffic passing through the village is exceptionally low which really adds to the peace and calm but if you do want to take the car and explore the Moors further afield, the cottage is ideally placed with good access in all directions. If you need provisions, Kirbymoorside is only 5 miles away and yet you feel much further away from the main populated areas south of the National Park. In summary, we would thoroughly recommend.
