"The hotel is very handy from the railway station. The bar area was a delight to relax in, with the chap playing the baby grand. The chairs are comfy but low for eating from (for me 5'4) The restaurant is colourful and the breakfast was good. I was in a room at the back of the hotel and the decor was simple, the room was fine though (i like the old furnitire) and warm enough for me (im a cold person) but maybe a little overpriced. "Excellent service from the staff. Perfect location with lift directly down to harbour road. We only stayed two nights and the only negatives would be no room service for new toiletries or teabags between nights. Also if you have a car and have mobility issues the car park is located fairly close but area very hilly. Would however return "

"We had a warm welcome. Our room was on the small side for a twin and there was a huge tv completely in front of the mirror! The bathroom felt recently decorated and was very clean. We had bad neighbours fighting during the night but the staff managed to sort the problem out after an hour.(3-4am!) Paige helped us with a misunderstanding over the swimming pool in the morning and we enjoyed a warm clean swim. The spa man was friendly. "We had an amazing week, great sea view room, fabulous breakfast each day, we also ate there of an evening a couple of times and had sunday lunch and each time the food and service was excellent and great value for money. Lots of free parking and easy walking distance to the town centre. The staff were all friendly and approachable nothing was too much, all in all a great week."

"We have had a great stay. Dinner lastnight in the Smiths Brasserie was superb and when we retired to the oak bar after we received great service there also. Off to the spa this morning for a detox. "

"Staff were nice and friendly, the room was a set up to high standard . There was also a hairdryer which was good because it rained the night before, so could dry clothes. Lift good ! Has lots of space around the hotel. Loads of rooms , the room was really good ! I would definitely stay again ! Thank you to the staff and everyone that make this hotel fantastic! Will come again sometime in the distant future ! "

"The food was outstanding. We are in the bar area and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was delicious and a lot of choice. The evening entertainment was brilliant. The shower was terrible. We only stayed one night as we were attending a funeral so only used it once and we were in a hurry. "Brilliant place for a three-night stay! We had a two-bedroom house for three adults and two toddlers, and it was great—comfortable, spacious, clean, and excellent value for money. We’ll definitely be back! The only thing that could have made it even better would be replacing the old carpet with the same flooring as in the kitchen."
