Lake Fork in November
My girlfriend and I stayed here early November for some fishing. Lake is very low, caught a couple but nothing special. Be careful while driving on the water and be on the lookout for stumps.
The town is mostly dry, there is no on premises alcohol sales. We knew this ahead of time but wanted to share it for others that do not know. It’s a small, quiet town, one restaurant is open on the weekends. You will only be fishing and hanging at the house.
It was more than enough space for us, there are four total beds so if you’re going with a group it would be perfect for you. We wished there was a closet or a dresser to put our clothes in. Since it was just us, we laid our clothes on the extra beds.
We cook mainly at home so a kitchen was really important for our stay. This kitchen could use some updating. New pots and pans would be nice, the pans were Teflon and all scratched up. A few pots were missing lids which was a little frustrating. Appliances and utensils were outdated…new potato peeler is needed, the one they had was so dull we couldn’t use it. Larger silverware would be better, the spooned and forks were tiny.
There is no light down at the boat dock, bring a flashlight. It was very dark coming back in and hard to see, maybe adding a light on the dock would help.
Aside from a couple downsides of the kitchen this place was great and did exactly what we needed! Communication was quick and the place was clean which is very important.
Thank you Lisa for hosting us!
