Your view of the wild sea and the sounds of the roar of the waves from the oceanfront North View Suite are unparalleled. Ocean Haven enjoys some of the most magnificently unobstructed views on the wild Oregon coast. The North View is on the top level and offers sweeping panoramic views and recliners from which to enjoy them.

Hike all day or curl up with a Pendleton blanket and a book, gazing out the window at the ever-changing Sea. Private trail to a sandy beach, tide pools teeming with marine life, a seal colony, pelagic & shorebirds, & wandering whales await you. Regular guests have been returning "home" for 40 years.

The space
Ocean Haven is a small Oceanfront lodge on a promontory in a Marine Protected area & Shorebird Conservation Area. We have 4 suites with panoramic views and a cliffside cabin.

You can access the beach from the trail next to the cabin. The trail is a moderately rated switchback trail. Depending on the tides and the movements of the sand seasonally there can be a little jump from the rocks at the bottom of the cliff to the beach itself. Most people have no difficulty with the trail to the beach, however, people who have physical challenges may prefer to drive up the street to one of the more easily accessible beaches. There are beaches to the north and south that are accessible without stairs, but we are on a cliffside, part of what makes it so glorious!

Each unit has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker and comes stocked with coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. We ask guests to compost food and recycle and provide the tools to do that.

In order to conserve precious water, we do not change towels and linens each day or clean rooms unless by special request.

There are books including travel, birding, and hiking guides in each room as well as books written by the various writers who have graced Ocean Haven over the years.

There are no televisions or telephones in the room by design. We tend to draw a pretty mellow clientele and we like it that way.

Ocean Haven is more of a quiet retreat and a place to relax and rejuvenate, and more of a settle-in kind of place than an in-and-out place.

Other things to note
Please let us know your approximate arrival time if possible. We are 1.5 hours from Eugene Airport, 3.5 hours from PDX, ~ 3 hours from Astoria Cannon Beach, 4 hours from Crater Lake.

This is not a suitable space for children under 12.

We have some rules about cooking fish due to odors in the all-wood rooms, check with us about that.

No smoking anywhere on the premises, inside or out.
