"KOKO Hotel is conveniently located in a shopping and convention center, close to the castle and downtown areas. The room was very well equipped and large for Japanese standards. Staff very kind and helpful. I happily recommend the place."

"The hot spring is the main reason I booked this hotel for. Unfortunately, we were told on arrival that the hotspring for women were not available. There are plenty of choices cheaper than this hotel if no hot spring provided. I should have choose other hotel if I know hot spring is not available. Also, the bed was placed under the window and there was water leaking from the window to the pillow. "Everything about Nihon No Ashitaba was so incredibly beautiful, serene, and thoughtful. They offer a free shuttle everyday to Yufuin station where you can walk, shop, eat, and enjoy Yufuin. "We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with nowhere to go and struggled to find anything for hours during when the weather got really bad. "Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. We used Google maps and got there without difficulty. We were thankful to have a 4WD and snow tires, because there was ice on parts of the road. Highly recommend the place!"
