I don't know if I'd stay here again simply because the sheets and tub were dirty (hair from previous occupants in the bed and hard water stains all over the tub and shower). Jet tubs are impossible to keep thoroughly clean...They also kept the thermostat centrally controlled at 68 degrees so we were freezing. There was a layer of dust behind the TV as thick as a blanket. People must not care in the summertime when the beach is the main attraction, but in the off season...when you're mostly inside, you see it all. The place needs refurbishing, badly, but the view is unparalleled. Gorgeous little balcony. Amazing breakfast.

We are a senior couple just looking for a relaxing weekend. The Shell Island Resort was WONDERFUL! The view from our room was incredible and the beach was beautiful and uncrowded at this time of year. After 3 days and nights, we truly did not want to leave! The staff was superb and I want to especially commend the maintenance crew, specifically Patrick, who was super helpful patient and friendly.

It was terrible. The bar was closed the restaurant was closed. It should not be advertised as a resort at all. The linens were the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel in 60 years. They did not tell me that we had to ask to have the room cleaned. So that was a problem. They should at least tell you at check in that you had to request room clean and towels and coffee

The door did not have a secure lock system, lock was part of framing. Refrigerator was outdated with the door being part of freezer which didnt freeze anything internet was overloaded so hard to have a consistent connection

The resort is very dated. Our particular unit was dingy- the main bathroom was normally cleaned, the bed was uncomfortable, and the paint was chipping in places. The ocean front view was beautiful, and it was quiet- but the place needs a major refresher. We won’t stay there again.

Initially the resort is dated and appears older. When checking in staff was pleasant. But our room turned out to have been uncleaned (sand in bed, no amenities including toilet paper or towels), broken lock on balcony door, drafty room with whistling sound from balcony door, broken remote. After complaining to the front desk, and having to repeat the issue to 3 separate staff members because no one communicated our issues to the next staff members (with no apologies), they gave us a new room, which was much better than the first, which lead us to believe they put us in the TRASH ROOM. The remainder of our stay was fine.

Excellently run facility. Liked everything about the stay except... The TV(s) were impossible to work with. Multiple remotes and minimal channel selection made viewing a bummer. Even that negative couldn't overshadow all the other superlatives.
