"The room was modern and spotlessly clean, although compact; kettle, beverages, hairdryer and ironing board provided, along with a good supply of coat hangers in the wardrobe. Very comfortable bed and an excellent shower. A slight downside was that the rear access (fire escape) and kitchen extractor system were right outside our window, so a bit noisy in the late evening and early morning. "Friendly, cosy with character. Attention to detail with decor. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, we will return again. Fully recommended. We were using a gift token for the wine tasting in the village thus the reason for the stop over due to the location. Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. "Patrick and his wife were very welcoming, the property is dated but comfortable and clean and very reasonably priced. The surrounding area is a short walk away, with some nice pubs, restaurants (with gluten free options), shops and a Tesco etc... The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been some comfy chairs or small sofa in the room as I personally struggle watching TV in bed, due to health issues, but other than that it was a pleasant stay."

"We booked our stay back in September. On 13th October we travelled 200 miles from Scotland, arriving at 8pm, to find it closed. It transpired that the hotel had gone out of business on 5th October. No one had thought to inform us, and cancel our booking!
