"Great stay, great location. The staff went above and beyond. They offered champagne upon arrival, there was a cookie/fruit basket with water in the room. The room was very clean and elegant. The bathroom was very clean, shower amazing with great water pressure and there even was a scale (remember multiple 2.2 KG to convert to pounds). They even provided a shoe horn (something I have never seen). There was a private entrance and amazing breakfast provided (with great staff) and a huge selection. Upon check in the hostess drew us a map on where to visit and what to see. Great old Roman ruins everywhere and Christmas markets! We dined at the restaurant and the food was amazing, just make sure you make a reservation first and ask to see the room in the basement which looks like a medieval dungeon turned restaurant! At check out they gave us a gift jar of jam to finish off a great stay. We highly recommend the Romantik Hotel Zur Glocke! "

"We came to Trier for the Christmas market and to visit the Roman sites. The hotel was ideally placed for both. There's no restaurant but the hotel buffet breakfast was excellent and catered well for a gluten intolerance. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking in the underground carpark was fine if a little tight to navigate in a bigger car. The staff were excellent and helpful. They spoke perfect English but humoured our schoolboy German! All round good."

"The hotel is great value for money. Some of the rooms appear to be undergoing renovation at the moment. My room overlooked the river, with a nice view of the old Roman bridge. It's a short but interesting walk to the hauptmarkt, Karl Marx's birthplace and museum, Trier Dom, Porta Nigra, and other sights. I'd happily stay here again. "
