The Space:
Spectacular ocean views welcome you to this funky retro-furnished home. Open spacious living and numerous entertaining areas offers perfect all year round comfort. Ocean & beach views from the main bedroom, living areas and expansive entertaining balcony. Rest, relax or entertain with your closest friends and family, this property has it all! Soak up the beautiful sea breeze through the property, swim in the large pool, BBQ with friends or revel in what Illawarra has to offer. On those mild winter nights cosy up in the comfy leather chairs overlooking the ocean with a glass of wine or enjoy smores by the fire pit in your own private courtyard. Austinmer is perfect year round and has a pleasant climate, averaging 25°C in summer and 16°C in winter.

Perched overlooking Austinmer beach making the most of the ocean views, step inside the lower level and here you have the open foyer area with views out to the entertaining deck and pool area. The stylish and spacious ground level has one bedroom, bathroom, separate laundry, garage and dedicated work space with free Wi-Fi perfect for some privacy from the rest of the group. Entering upstairs you have an open plan lounge area with a cool retro vibe, this authentic Austinmer property will provide all of your creature comforts in your home away from home. A large dining table for 8 both inside and out makes it easy for guests to come together for a shared meal at home, making use of the fully equipped kitchen. Relish in the seamless in-door/out-door floor plan which sees you exiting out onto an open deck with 180° ocean views. In the evenings spread out on the sofas with a gas heater, books, and smart TV catering to your entertainment needs.

This space has another separate cosy lounge area overlooking the ocean with direct access to the balcony perfect for a games night in.

Sleep and savour the ocean views and sounds of the sea from your main bedroom. You’ll also find two other bedrooms on this level along with the main bathroom, which has a bath to help guests relax after a busy day. The main suite features a queen-sized bed and private balcony. The Neighborhood:
The beautiful coastal town of Austinmer stands on the rolling South Coast. Austinmer is a haven for holidaymakers, thanks to the town’s laid-back location. The area is known for its beaches, with author D. H. Lawrence having described the sands as home to “deep pock-holes that were full of brilliantly clear water and delicately-coloured shells and tiny, crimson anemones”.
Austinmer enjoys a pleasant climate, averaging 25°C in summer and 16°C in winter.

The original inhabitants of this land were local Dharawal communities of Aboriginal people. After settlement, the area was first named Sidmouth, and by the 1860s it was known as North Bulli. The name Austinmer was officially adopted in 1895. The town’s early industries were coal, salt, and blackberries before it became a tourism destination in the early 20th Century. Several historic buildings are still operating, including Austinmer Railway Station (1887), and the Austinmer Public School (1866).

Thirroul, only minutes away and has become rapidly gentrified in recent years, giving rise to cool cafés, chic restaurants and boutique shops. Wollongong is only 20 minutes, what’s not to like, with an urban vibe bustling with quality dining, quirky cafes and exciting small bars that would rival older siblings Sydney or Melbourne’s best. With its stretched blueprint defined by geography, the city inevitably spills down to a waterfront like no other.

Memorial Drive is a short distance away and connects to Wollongong, while Bulli Pass puts you onto the M1 and Sydney or south bound in no time.

The scenic Lawrence Hargrave Drive goes through the heart of Austinmer and North towards the Royal National Park.

Alternatively, travel by train on the South Coast Line, which takes just under two hours from Sydney Central (you can pick up a closer line from Sydney Airport). Sydney trains on the South Coast Line regularly stop at Austinmer Station, which is one stop away from Thirroul and its express services.
