"We had such a lovely 2 night stay here! The lodge was in pristine condition, with all necessities like tea, coffee, milk. The hot tub was ready for us to get in. There were plenty of useful extras like iron, travel cot, hairdryers, plenty of toilet rolls. There was an en-suite with shower and a family bathroom too. "The house is on a quiet lane only yards from the busy centre of the town. As expected, the parking space was tight, but with care we managed to get our large car into it, but could also park on a nearby street with a permit organised by the host. The house had all the facilities we expected, though some were showing signs of wear with a few small maintenance tasks being due. "We love staying at Bar Lodge, it’s comfortable, cosy and has everything you need for a peaceful stay. Easy parking right outside the door. The area has lots of great places to visit. Hopefully we will be back there soon."

Julie, Louise and Clare were very welcoming, and a great source of local knowledge if like us you aren't from the area. "Beautiful converted shipping container with a small hot tub, overlooking fields with horses. Also 1 hour's access to the on-site swimming pool, which was a lovely touch. There is another lodge not far away, and people can access the horse field, but it still felt private enough. It is worth mentioning that there is a hairdryer, a fan, shampoo and conditioner, towels and kitchen utensils, and washing up liquid, all provided. "Overall a good stay. Needs a bit of TLC to the paintwork. Bathroom is quite small but adequate, & bedroom space was small ie bed against the wall. Stayed in deluxe studio apartment it was nice to sit on chairs instead of bed to watch tv. Nice kitchen area if you want to cook something simple. Bed was comfortable & extra pillows if wanted in wardrobe. Great communication & easy mobile entry via email "

"We had a great time at this property, we upgraded to the attached farmhouse which was beautiful and a great social space"

"After many attemps to make contact on the day of arrival via cobtact number and whats app eventually got some communication. I was told at 2pm on day of arrival(5pm check in) that the appartment was o longer available due to previous occupier causing damage which could not be rectified. Had a exact review not so long ago. Poor communication but managed to sort alternative accomadation so break was not ruined. Be cautious"

"This hotel surpassed my expectations! It was clean, the staff were super friendly and overall a lovely place to be. What added a cherry on the cake was the breakfast! It was so good, I loved the items to choose from and the quality and atmosphere was wonderful. The only negative feedback would be the onsite parking, its great but if only it was half the price or free for hotel guests. Other than that, this place is by far one of the best hotels ive stayed In. Thank you to all the staff for making this stay one of my favorite experiences. "
