"Our stay was brilliant, cleanliness of the hotel and room was 100%. Staff were lovely especially towards my 8 year old daughter. Only thing I think requires improvement is the children's menu."

"Great overnight stop with the most friendly and helpful of staff. Facilities excellent and being able to bring our dog was so good. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast options were just right for us. Will definitely stay again. The price was also the best value for money you could ask for. Could not recommend more."

"I recently stayed at the Blackwell Grange Hotel and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Set within beautiful grounds and surrounded by mature trees, the hotel strikes the perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. The building itself is stunning — full of character — with elegant interiors and a welcoming atmosphere throughout. My room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view of the gardens. The leisure facilities, including the pool and gym, were well-maintained and a fantastic bonus for a relaxing break. The staff were consistently helpful, friendly, and professional. From check-in to check-out, they made me feel genuinely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Dining at the hotel was also a pleasure — the food was fresh, well-prepared, and served in a lovely setting. Breakfast had a great range of options, catering to different tastes. Location-wise, it’s ideal — close enough to Darlington town centre yet tucked away enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. Whether you’re staying for business, a weekend break, or a special occasion, Blackwell Grange offers excellent value and a touch of luxury. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"Staff exceptional, esp Dale and Ashley. They took marvellous and personal care of us. The Castle itself is showing its age. The mattress in our room needs replacing. We had a suite in one of the towers, which was huge, with a massive sitting room, but it was at the very top, only accessible by stairs, so unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The evening meal and cooked breakfasts were delicious and cooked to order, a rare experience in this day and age."

"1-night stay for a business trip. This hotel is in a convenient location right on the Scotch Corner junction. Room was clean and as expected, easy parking. The restaurant was OK for both breakfast and dinner, not fine dining but decent enough. I recommend this one over the next Holiday Inn further north."
