High Borrans Dene is a 1 bedroom self catering holiday lodge at High Borrans Farm near Windermere. This beautifully presented, centrally heated lodge is the perfect retreat to whisk your special someone away to. Located on a quiet rural working hill farm just a stone’s throw away from Windermere, it is a fantastic place to escape, relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature around you. Dene is an idyllic base to use to explore the surrounding Lakes, whilst also containing everything you would need for a weekend or longer spent snuggling up inside the lodge. The interiors calming blue and cream colour scheme creates a bright and airy atmosphere that helps you rest and unwind.

Dene lodge is unable to accommodate dogs.

Strictly no children or infants are permitted at High Borrans.
High Borrans is a working farm so dogs must be kept under strict control at all times.
Secure wifi is available in the lodge
Mobile phone signal is very patchy in the surrounding area.
There is a free to use onsite laundry room in the small stone building at the entrance to the lodge park. This includes 2 washing machines, tumble dyer, iron and ironing board. There is also additional shared freezer storage space (plus some spare dog towels in case of need).
Arrival is from 4pm. Departure by 10am.

The perfect stay
If you're looking for a truly special and welcoming place to stay, look no further than this charming cabin on a farm in the Lake District. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for, from picking us up when we were stranded in the snow to the delightful touches throughout the cabin (Dene). The scenery is stunning, and the amenities are top-notch. This is the kind of place that will stay in your memory for years to come. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Just what we needed
We needed a quiet, comfortable break and High Borrans Dene gave us just that. Couldn't fault it. The bed was comfy. The bathroom superb. The kitchen well equipped and the veranda was perfect. The location meant that amenities weren't too far away, but High Borrans is definitely in the depths of the beautiful countryside. Peaceful.

Paradise in the lakes....!
We have just had another fantastic stay at High Borrans. This time we stayed in "Dene" which was every bit as good as our last stay in November in "Grove". This is such a peaceful retreat for adults only, located on a working farm. The lodges are extremely tastefully furnished and have everything you could possibly need for your stay, Cathy has only the guests in mind and provides a lovely home from home. There is a beautiful bathroom with a deep bath and large walk-in shower with complimentary toiletries and the most comfortable bed for a good nights sleep after walking the hills of the local areas!!! High Borrans is in a lovely countryside spot just 10 minutes away from Windermere. The sounds of the local wildlife add to the beautiful setting of the lodges. We have stayed many times in the Lakes at various types of accommodation, but High Borrans is by far our favourite. We would recommend this lovely adults retreat to anyone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We will definitely be back!!

Sunny September at High Borrans
We had a 4 day short break at High Borrans, the lodge was very comfortable and cosy and had everything you need and some nice additional touches. It’s in a lovely location at the end of a no through road, so lovely and peaceful, however, you can easily drive to Windermere, Ambleside within a few minutes and if you take Moorhowe Rd the views are We did some really nice walks, with the option of lower level or higher fell tops if you wish, we really enjoyed this because the area was new to us and it was so much quieter than the rest of the Lakes. We will definitely be back to enjoy those views from the lodge and friendly sheep and have already recommended to friends and family.

A beautiful private retreat
High Borrans is an idyllic location to enjoy the Lake District but get some peace from the crowds. The lodges are beautifully presented with lots of little touches to make you feel at home. When the weather finally sorted itself out, it was a joy to sit on the deck listening to nothing but birdsong. Highly recommended for a private and perfect getaway.
