"The Hawk Nest" cabin on Tims Ford Lake
The Hawk Nest Log Cabin was hand-built from cedar trees located on the property. The cabin is small, but cozy and comfortable. It's perfect for 2 or 3 guests, but it can accommodate up to 4 people. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are located upstairs. If you have a problem with stairs, the cabin might not be right for you, as the stairs are steep. (Ladder-style stairs). "The Hawk Nest" cabin is located right on Tims Ford Lake in middle Tennessee, just outside the town of Winchester. It sits at the edge of the lake, surrounded by 4 wooded acres, with its own dock in a private and quiet residential area. Be sure to bring your own firewood (or feel free to pick up any sticks you may find in the yard) so you can enjoy roasting hot dogs or marshmallows by the firepit. Sit back and relax in the hammock or either of two outdoor swings on the property. You'll find a picnic table and both a gas & charcoal grill for your convenience. There is plenty of shade and it's very peaceful and relaxing here. There are games and rainy-day activities for children, including a child's swing set and sandbox. Basic cable TV is available, as well as Wifi. Smoking is not allowed inside the cabin, but your pets are welcome. Tims Ford is a great lake for fishing, skiing, or boating. There are lots of antique shops and other attractions nearby as well as mountains nearby for hiking. It's located about 20 minutes from Tims Ford State Park and the Jack Nicklaus designed "Bear Trace Golf Course". It is 25 miles to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg; 15 miles to Falls Mill with the largest working water wheel in the United States; 17 miles to Sewanee and the beautiful University of the South. The cabin is located approximately 60 miles northwest of Chattanooga, 90 miles southeast of Nashville, and 50 miles northeast of Huntsville AL and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

I had hoped it would be cooler but it wasn't as I had hoped. However, the cabin, while small, was fine for me and my dog, Rosie. W enjoyed the dock and the lake. It was nice being on an inlet so we weren't bothered by noisy jet skis and motor boats. Very restful. Thank you for having all the amenities we could wish for and such a lovely setting.
This is the sweetest little cabin! And the location is perfect close to Winchester and Tullahoma. We also took a day trip to Lynchburg! This is truly a TINY cabin. The bathroom is the size of a coat closet, and the stairs are very much as explained in the description. The beds are very comfy! My only suggestion is that the kitchen be better stocked with daily essentials like coffee , sugar and spices. On the topic of the price of the stay, it’s my opinion that you could stay in a larger cabin property with the same amount of amenities for roughly the same amount as this cabin. But if tiny house living and ambiance is what you are looking for then this is great for you!
This is a clean, comfortable and well-appointed cabin and a well-maintained property. It was perfectly simple and had everything we needed…even a flashlight, which we forgot. Our host generously accommodated our special request. Access to water with a kayak was easy. We would love to rent this again! Leslie November 2024
We love being out in the trees and spending time with nature. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax surrounded by trees.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Property was listed as smoke free; however, it was not. The bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke.
The location of the cabin was beautiful/cabin was as seen on line; however it was not smoke free as advertised on line. The bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke so badly that i could not shower. I did contact the owner, and he was baffled about how we could be smelling cigarette smoke. He did offer to refund our money, but we refused the refund..A refund does not make all ok. We have used VRBO for several years, and this is the first time we have had any problem.

We had the most amazing time at the cabin. Fishing with f the dock, grilling, fires in the fire pit at night, and of course the coziness of the cabin. Will be coming back again
