"The room was basic but comfortable and provided everything we needed. The location was excellent, perfectly situated for our purpose. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food choices were excellent, good value and tasty. "A lovely hotel where the staff were absolutely wonderful, the kids were over the moon with the biscuits the lady on reception gave us, just a little touch but it was lovely. The room was a little dated but had all we needed and was well maintained and clean which is more important than the era of furniture (think 1990s pine era). "Lovely room, really nice bathroom fit out. Excellent quality tea, coffee, orange juice etc in the room. Nice variety of self serve breakfast to get when you want. Room was quite loud above the pub until it closed at 11 at night. Overall lovely stay and great value. "

"Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome."

"We stayed in room 2 which was above the bar we had a lot of noise until it closed. Handy for the train station. Breakfast was a disappointment, it had been overcooked, bacon was hard egg yolk was hard and toast was like eating crackers"

"The staff and the welcome they provided were excellent as was the pub grub. The rooms are in need of some refurbishment as they look a little worn out in appearance. The TV was so small it seemed better to watch the news on my phone"

"What a great find. I was working nearby and needed somewhere to stay. The room was lovely, everything i needed. Couldn't get the tv to work at first, i asked and they came up amd replaced the tv, fantastic service. I had a great sleep and a lovely shower in the morning. 100% recommended.."

Amazing, staff are super friendly but beds arehard

"It was amazing we traveled up as I had an England camp and it fell onto my partners birthday weekend we were met with an assortment of cakes to celebrate my partners birthday with a lovely hand written message from the team. We ordered a takeaway, a member of staff offered to bring up cutlery to eat it and 5 minutes later at our room door was a member of staff with plates and cutlery! They are amazing thank you so much for making our stay amazing! Our only moan is the beds aren’t very comfortable and on the firm side this is their only let down as everything was perfect! "
