Family of 4 (8 & 10yo) First Visit to Curaçao. Objective: Snorkel from the beach and enjoy some Relaxation. Great weather. No Sargassum seaweed. Awesome wildlife and amazing coral.
My only complaint about our trip is the lack of information available online. This pertains to the island as a whole and more specifically: dining options.
We do plan to return. I didn’t realize the kitchen was so accommodating and I plan to pick up coffee and breakfast items prior to arrival on our next visit. We did buy reef-friendly sunscreen at the supermarket and bottled water however the tap water is absolutely fine. The restaurant next door is fine for a few meals and we will definitely go back. Mambo beach is a short walk; just stay near the water and pass by a few boats to get there.
Unfortunately on the last day of our visit, my son hurt his knee and was unable to fully extend it. The Front Desk was super helpful and arranged for a doctor to visit to examine him. This saved us a lot of time and worry. My daughter and I salvaged the day and snorkeled from the beach at the resort, across the small channel and behind the rocks that surround Mambo Beach. It was amazing. We also really enjoyed Tugboat beach for snorkeling and Cas Abao beach for relaxation but we plan to return to revisit some areas and explore some new ones.
