Quiet hideaway near beautiful national monument
We enjoyed the quiet and the dark night sky’s in this cute little house that’s been completely refurbished from the ground up. Very comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen made it easy to stay for a few days and “social distance“ 😊

Wonderful guest house on the prairie
We loved staying at the High Desert Dreams house. Everything in the guest house is new, roomy and updated, and Diana is a great host (even fresh eggs from her chickens!). Great location for exploring Chiricahua National Monument, Ft Bowie, and the Chiricahua Mountains. We will be back!

COME LIVE THE DREAM!
We spent a peaceful & relaxed few days at this lovely, meticulous & beautifully maintained guest house on a ranch down the road from the Chiricahua National Monument. Our host Diana, was delightful, interesting, & most helpful. It was a special treat to stay on a working ranch in a spectacular location. Our accommodations were perfect after hours of hiking. We had a memorable stay and highly recommend this property.

It was a wonderful place to stay 10 minutes from Chiricahua National Monument. Beautifully decorated and fully furnished kitchen with 2 bedrooms. Located on a private farm with privacy and grest view of the mountains. Diana greeted us and was a great hostess of this exceptional home away from home.

Easy access to the Chiracahuas
If you want to be just minutes, rather than hours, away from the Chriacahuas, this is the place to be. A few minutes after hiking, you can be relaxing at this well appointed and comfortable home. There's also a wide variety of birds to be seen on the property. Highly recommended!

Chiricahua hikes and exploration
This was the most amazing VRBO experience we’ve ever had, the cleanliness, kindness and native experience of the host was beyond reproach. Uniqueness of the property and beauty, silence, and night sky darkness made the windy conditions seem even more significant to the nature of all the surroundings. All 4 of us 70+ year olds couldn’t have been more pleased with all of experiences with this location. Thank you Diana! (& Kelsey)

Relaxing and peaceful
Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful weekend. Property was clean and well stocked with necessities. Owners were nearby if needed but not intrusive. Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the peace and quiet. We were there to enjoy a nearby wine celebration this time but will definitely be coming back in the future to explore the nearby mountains.

perfect,peaceful,powerful view of mountains
We have stayed at VRBO's from Bahamas to British Columbia, this was by far the best of all! Decorated tastefully, absolutely spotless. Five minutes from the Chirichura Mountains with the most scenic hikes in all the Southwest. Kelsey the ranch dog was well mannered, always ready to greet us ( don't forget to take BBQ flavor pork dog treats). Jerry & Yvonne, Scottsdale, AZ

Home away from home
We just spent a few days enjoying the Chiricahua National Monument and the location couldn't be more perfect. Diana and Michael are the nicest hosts and the place was spotless. Very clean and well appointed. Everything we needed for our stay. The large picture window in front is the perfect place to watch the sunrise and enjoy a coffee before a day exploring. In the afternoon you can sit and enjoy all the birds that visit the yard. The Gambel's and Scaled Quail are numerous and very entertaining to watch. Would highly recommend.

Charming, Quiet Cottage
We loved our stay at High Desert Dreams! The owner Diana is delightful. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed, including coffee and some special extras that Diana threw in. The grounds are beautiful and beyond peaceful. Make sure to take a long walk with the resident dog. The location is perfect for touring wine country or hiking at Chiricahua National Monument. We can't wait to visit again. High Desert Dreams is the absolute best place to stay in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Loved every minute
I stayed at Diana's property with a friend, as a base for visiting the Chiricahua park. We both loved our stay, the house had everything we needed, comfy beds and fluffy towels, and Kelsey the dog to accompany us on walks round the property. I loved the silence and the amount of stars to be seen at night is breathtaking. Oh and great WiFi so I could send photos back to family and friends in Europe! :-) I hope to get back some day in the future.

Best VRBO ever
Diana was the consummate hostess -- even a dozen fresh eggs from her ranch awaited us in the scrupulously clean unit. We loved it, felt comfortable and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. While some might be tempted to skimp on towels, toilet paper or napkins where it would be easy to save money, Diana still put out the very best. She greeted us for a walk-through on arrival and then left us to enjoy. While we came to visit the incredible and jaw dropping Chiricahwa National Monument, the quiet, the sunset and the beautiful views will bring us back. Thank you, Diana!

Great Location, Space and Owner
We choose this cottage to be near Chiricahua Park which is only a few miles away. The building exceeded our expectations with a newly renovated interior and western decor. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking which is important since restaurants are 30 miles away in Wilcox. Beds were comfortable and the walk-in shower luxurious. We did utilize the "bay window bed" and it was fine as a third sleeping area. The house is on a ranch. The area is very quiet and we slept well after hiking. Diana was extremely helpful and flexible when we learned that the park might be closed due to the government shutdown. Fortunately it reopened before our visit. We would highly recommend staying here for a visit to Chiricahua.

Hiking and History!
We loved everything about this comfortable, cozy, peaceful guest house and the delightful owner, Diana! Although we came to hike the beautiful trails of Chiricahua National Monument, the ranch atmosphere of this vacation rental prompted us to also explore the late 19th/ early 20th century history of this corner of Arizona. We visited nearby Fort Bowie National Historic Site and made the 1 ½ mile hike to the military camp ruins. (We picked up a site brochure at the start of the trail to get an idea of the original encampment and read the many posted informational signs along the way.) To learn more about early pioneer settlements as well as conflicts with the local Apache, we read about and then hiked the short Bonita Canyon trail to Faraway Ranch which is within the Chiricahua National Monument. Diana’s family is part of the pioneer history here. Be sure to peruse the many old photos (and recipes) in the family cookbook that Diana has placed in the guest house.

Five star all the way!
We had a wonderful, all too short stay at the cottage. It is about as close to the entrance to Chiricahua National Monument as one can get, so the location was pretty much perfect. That said, our entire stay was pretty much perfect. The cottage is spotlessly clean, very private, very comfortable. If anything, the decor and comfort is nicer than the pictures show. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking, and since the nearest restaurant or grocery store is 35 or so miles away, you will want to cook! Bring groceries and enjoy: it was a perfect place to come home to after hiking in the monument. The stars at night are amazing....hubby is an amateur astronomer so we are always searching out dark skies, and the skies right at the cottage are some of the darkest we've ever seen. I give this cottage my highest recommendation. We will be back for another visit and will stay longer this time!

Excellent stay!
My wife and I had a fantastic time over our 5 days. The house had everything we needed, was extremely comfortable, and was the perfect location. We loved the quick and easy access to the National Monument and other areas of SE Arizona, but also loved hanging "in the neighborhood". Hope to be back. someday.

High Desert Gem
We had a delightful stay for three nights. The guest house was very comfortable, spotless and stocked with everything we needed. Diana was very accommodating and friendly. We loved Kelsey, her dog, who greeted us every time we left and returned from exploring the surrounding area, Chiricahua National Monument and Chiricahua Mountains/Coronado National Forest. The property was serene and relaxing with views of the mountains and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed being outside, using the outdoor chairs provided, and watching various birds and jackrabbits. The bay window seat was a wonderful place to be during the monsoon storm that rolled in. Thank you Diana, we are looking forward to another stay!
