"We had previously written Memmingen off as a purely transit town - handy for the nearby airport and nothing else. This was based on the less-than-inspiring train station and it’s immediate vicinity. However, on this visit we were pleasantly surprised to discover a remarkable ’old town’ district a short walk away. "It’s an older hotel, a bit dated, but overall good. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. It’s very walkable to old town, shopping and restaurants. They give you a bus pass for local transit and to/from the castles. The boat stop is just a block away. I’d definitely stay here again."
