Lovely to be in the country and on a real farm. Our 3 year old loved his stay. Feeding calves, lamb, sheep plus his favourite was collecting the eggs. The Host was very welcoming. Fresh eggs for breakfast. We highly recommend this Farm stay.
A wonderful cozy home to stay in and well fitted out kitchen with all you need and more. Pretty views, lovely area. Wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed seeing the milking, feeding the calves, getting the eggs and experiencing a working farm - even in the pouring rain!
Kids had a ball. Woke up of their own accord before 6am to feed the calves and baby lambs and collect the chickens eggs. Judith and Don were so nice. Great experience, can’t wait to do it again.
We absolutely loved our weekend stay at this beautiful property. The accomodation was very comfortable and clean. Our three year old son loved watching the cows being milked, playing with the dogs and collecting the eggs. It was a truly wonderful farm stay experience. Thank you Judith and Don - we will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely loved it. There were so many things to see and do at the farm. The kids got to see where milk and eggs came from, and they loved seeing the baby animals. They didn’t want to leave in the end. Thank you Judith for the lovely experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and contained everything we needed. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and included us in "farmy" activities such as feeding the calves, herding the cows and collecting the eggs. Was very interesting to see an authentic operating dairy farm in action, and Farmer Don was a real character! The property is located in a beautiful landscape, and only a few minutes drive to pubs and shops. Would highly recommend.
We all had a great time in the farm! Many thanks to Judith for her warm welcome! Kids really enjoyed feeding the calves and sheep and also collecting the eggs. The days we stayed were windy and cold. But the house itself is cozy and warm. The gas heater warmed up the house quickly. Plenty of blankets. Heaters were not even needed when sleeping. The kitchen is well equipped. We made breakfast and cooked simple meals. Overall it’s great farm experience!
We had such a lovely and memorable time at Fairway Farm. Our hosts were amazing and made us feel very welcome. The farm is immaculate and the gardens are stunning! We were able to help out with the farm chores which my kids really enjoyed doing. Watching the cows being milked and hearing the history of diary farming in the area was very enlighenting for us all. Exploring the surrounding towns and going for walks to the nearby falls filled our day time. We were very sad to leave and wished we could have stayed for longer at what felt like our new home. I would highly recommend a visit.
Fairway farm is a little gem in the Southern Highlands. Located close to Burrawang, Bowral and Robertson, yet far enough to feel like you've escaped the city and the crowds. Judy and Don were kind and accommodating and made us feel very welcomed. The kids loved helping to collect eggs for breakfast, feeding the newborn calves, and playing with Misty and Skye, two border collies. We were lucky enough to see some baby chicks hatching and the cows being milked. Accommodation was nice and cosy and the kitchen was well stocked with all the basics. We would definitely recommend this farm stay and can't wait to visit again. Thank you Judy and Don for such a memorable experience.
What a fabulous place. Fairway Farm was our first ever farmstay and my whole family had the best time. Judith and Don were so generous with their time and answering all our questions - and we had lots of them - and let us help out with milking the baby calves (2 and 4 days old!!) and feeding the chooks etc. One of their sheep even had the most adorable baby while were there. How lucky are we?! It's such a quaint little place. My kids are 10 and 13 and have already asked if we could go back. We highly recommend this place. We loved it and you will too.
They had no pets policy mentioned and we didn't notice that. We took our 94 gm cockatiel in a small cage of her own. This upset farmer Don. He told us to always keep her locked in the cage and keep the cage only in porch, not the house. He was worried of bird poop ruining his house. We assured him, we won't leave a mess. He would come check daily if she is in porch in her cage. He never entertained us , never showed us around. My daughter never got to pick eggs or feed animals. He used f*ck words in front of my 8yr old daughter. The checkout time in email is 11 am but farmer Don comes and says to my husband checkout is at 10.
I was in the shower then. Once out, I tell my husband checkout is at 11.we still pack most of our staff and the last 2 people, me and my nephew are having our breakfast when farmer Don comes at 10:10 knocking hard on the door. When he says you guys should be out by now. I tell him check out is at 11 , he says no checkout is at 10 and gets abusive.
Get the f*ck out of my property.
He kept telling us you got your cockatiel I could have turned you guys down on the first day itself.
I agree we got a pet when policy said no pets but that doesn't warrant his use of abusive language in front of my daughter and my teenager nephew. Except for the kind lady and misty the cuddly dog and the few calves and sheep we had access to , it wasn't fun. If you want to get humiliated and feel belittled go stay in this property.
Never coming again. We left property clean.
Lovely location so peaceful and within a working diary farm.
Has all the amenities you need for a restful and relaxing stay getting away from the city for a few nights. Breathtaking countryside. Judy was very friendly and helpful and was there to greet us on arrival.
Judith and Don are simply the best. Best hosts, best laughs, with the best farm for anyone (family or individuals) to enjoy.
My husband, our 4yrs old son and I feel in love with the farm and the amazing owners. Our son couldn't wait to see Don every morning and hear his stories about dairy farming, then off with Judith to feed the 5 days old calf, chickens, donkey and sheep:)
The surrounding area is beautiful and plenty to do and explore. We all felt energized, humbled and keen to come back soon :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 days at Fairway Farm these school holidays. Our accommodation was warm, comfy, very clean, with all the modcons you'd expect, plus views of the beautiful gardens and the farm. Hosts Judith and Don are lovely people, and they made us feel very welcomed. Don showed us around the dairy farm and we helped Judith with feeding the other farm animals (our daughter loved to feed and brush Candy the pony, collect the chicken eggs, pat the dogs, feed the calves and watch milking). The immersive experience was amazing for us city folk, totally worth the long drive from Melbourne. We were sad to leave but so happy we had the opportunity to taste farm life. Thank you again Judith and Don
Judith and Don were excellent hosts, always ready to help and answer questions. Theirs is a beautiful, real, small working farm with all that entails. They were particularly kind to our 10yo granddaughter who loved feeding the calves and lambs and 'helping' around the farm. The site is well located to visit the beautiful surrounding district. Recommend unreservedly.
Judith and John Warner hosted our "Stayz" holiday in the Southern Highlands recently. The unit is quite "the home"-totally warm and comfortable for us on our 3 night 4 day stay as the wet weather set in!! There was ample time and enthusiasm for helping herd the cows down from the top paddock to the milking shed in the afternoons. We watched the milking every chance we had, and delighted in feeding the growing calves their individual buckets of milk. In the evening we helped coax the chickens into their pens to keep them safe overnight. Our 4 day stay with Judith and Don was marvellous. This is a MUST for animal lovers!!
Awesome experience for the kids my 3yo keeps on playing farms at home and tells me his lego figures are Don and Judy.
Thanks so much for your hospitality I learnt so much as did the kids and we will be back again soon hopefully with better weather. Haha!
We had the pleasure of spending four nights at Fairway Farm. This is the real deal, a working dairy farm where you get to properly interact with the farm animals. Watching a calf being born and bottle feeding calves were amoung the many highlights. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed morning walks around the paddocks. We also saw kangaroos and beautiful bird life. Judy and Don are wonderful hosts. My husband described it as being “like a visit to grandparents”. We are keen to get back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Fairway farm. The accommodation has all you need and has that nice authentic rustic feeling. But the main draw card are the farm animals. The 2 sheep dogs are friendly and playful and our 5 year old daughter could not get enough of playing fetch the ball with them. In the beautiful garden. The farm also had young calves which were fun to feed with bottle or bucket and also had chooks. Very exciting for kids. Also there are great walking tracks and waterfalls in the surroundings and lovely towns in the area. As this was not our first visit to the area, we went to Belmore falls and Robertson and on our way back we visited Minnamurra Rainforest centre. Made for a fun weekend. And finally Judith is such a wonderful host. Thank you for the great hospitality!
We had a wonderful time. Our two year old had an amazing time, and we did too. Judy and Don were great hosts and are very good at looking after us. Highly recommended for families looking for a working farm experience.
We had such an amazing weekend at the farm with Judy & Don, they were so welcoming, the place was great & spacious, and our 3yo (and us!) loved watching & taking part in the daily activities of a working farm. Milking the cows, collecting eggs, holding one day old chicks and feeding the calves! Beautiful walk nearby, plus nice pubs and Fitzroy Falls. We will absolutely get back for another weekend - thank you!
We had a wonderful time on Fairway farm. Judith is so warm and inviting and the kids had a fantastic time. The farm, gardens and apartment all exceeded expectations, and we would definitely recommend and visit again.
