We stayed for a couple of nights whilst we explored the National Park particularly to do the Kingfisher trail. The setting for the guest house is delightful albeit about 10kms outside Wildnerness. This is not a problem if you have a car. The pool was great.
Hospitable friendly service only surpassed by the beautiful mountain views and fresh air. Conveniently located close to Wilderness, offering affordability accommodation. Value-added services like beach towels, beach umbrellas, dinner reservations and recommendations were welcomed.
Very much away from it all. The bird life in the garden is amazing, as is Tonys knowledge of his local 'flocks'. Vanessa does a superb breakfast. Although it is 10km down to Wilderness Village the drive up to Hildesheim is well worth it. We were on bed and breakfast but a couple of the rooms were self catering, with outdoor fires and bbq's, which we would plump for on a second visit. The swimming pool and patio area is a welcome bonus on a hot afternoon.
We had a great stay, lovely people and a huge room, the bed was very comfortable.
The obly downsides were the slow wi fi and that there was so much light in the early morning. Would stay there again for sure!
Tony and Vanessa were very gracious hosts, with Tony frequently taking the time to check in with us and provide expert advice on things to do. Being the low season, our accommodation was upgraded free of charge and we had a guest house to ourselves. Internet in guest house was non-existent but Tony and Vanessa welcomed us into the guest dining room where Internet was available at various hours of the day. We only had the optional breakfast once and it was nicely prepared to our order.
Overall a very pleasant stay, but be aware a car is a must.
Great location, peaceful and friendly. Tony the owner is very helpful and kind. The breakfasts ,are great and so is the pool. The surrounding and bird watching are beautiful.
Overall, a really enjoyable stay. Very cute and well maintained property in Wilderness with a great view. We arrived very late and they were willing to accommodate, which was much appreciated. In addition to that, they provided a number of good recommendations of what to do in the area. The two reasons I did not give 5 stars was because there was no soap in our room (they were very apologetic though the next morning when I informed them) and we found out too late that you have to inform them the night before if you will be joining them for breakfast the next morning. Luckily - if you forget to tell them - there is a great cafe down the road.
We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Hildesheim, We were very impressed by the fact that the owner's Tony & Vanessa contacted us prior to our arrival to ask if we wanted them to make us a Christmas Day restaurant reservation & then sent us a link to 4 restaurants for us to choose between. The hotel is in a lovely tranquil location overlooking the mountains & only a short 10 minute drive to the beach, restaurants & local shopping at Milkwood village. We stayed in a 2 bedroom self catering cottage which was very well presented & quite honestly had the comfiest bed with the snuggliest pillows I have ever slept on, If I had to make a negative comment then it would be that the bathroom is a little tired & would benefit from a make over, but on the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely return.

Good value in peaceful surroundings
We had a relaxing break in this hotel. The room was very clean with amenities, wifi not so strong in the room. Was surround by trees and birds also saw some sort of wild deer! Owner was very attentive and breakfast was very tasty.
We stayed in one of the Garden Cottages at Hildesheim for 4 nights in November 2012 and everything about our stay was wonderful. The 'cottage' was very spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite, a large fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room. Outside there was an enormous balcony with large table and chairs plus a full size webber barbeque. The views of the mountains from both the cottage and the pool area was beautiful. My husband and I were on a birdwatching holiday and the owners put out seed and nectar feeders in their large garden. In total we saw 29 species of birds in the garden including African Hoopoe and Knysa Turaco from our balcony. Vanessa and Tony were wonderful hosts and they went out of their way to help us with information about the local area as well as our next destination. Hoekwil has a friendly village shop where you can have a great cup of coffee with cakes made by ladies from the village (including Vanessa!). We would recommend Hildesheim to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Wilderness area.
