Pre check-in was awful. After booking, I got a suspicious email saying to click a link & provide credit card. It didn’t mention Expedia, Wichita, a recognizable reservation #, or the property name. I went to Expedia to confirm & saw a fraud alert message to NOT provide card info to such messages.
The emails kept coming, so I contacted Expedia chat. The rep didn’t seem to understand my concern, but assured me I had a reservation & said they contacted the property on my behalf; I didn’t need to do anything else.
Instructions from Expedia when I booked said I would get info 48 hours before checkin. Since it was now 24 hours til arrival & I had no instructions, I crossed my fingers, clicked the link & provided my credit card which was immediately authorized for 200 (still pending 2 days after check out).
I got an email with instructions to locate a key safe in the parking garage (which I was forbidden to use). I later got a voicemail message explaining there were issues with the key box & to call on arrival.
I parked a block away, walked to their dark garage & called an 800 number. The agent said she had opened the door to the leasing office. No doors opened, & she was describing features that didn’t exist. She was looking at the wrong property. I roamed the garage trying all doors. We got disconnected. After 20 minutes in the cold, she got the door to the key safe open.
Room was fair. Lamps next to bed didn’t work & the carpet was shabby, but otherwise OK.
