The weather was really hot, and an air con system on the upper sleeping area would have been useful, as the one on the middle floor didn’t cool upstairs. Excellent Retreat with More than Expected
"Amazing views from the room with a separate enclosed space for your private cup of coffee. The host guided us through the hot beach process and gave us a free shovel. He righted an internet problem immediately. We were right across from the beach."

We took the very quick ferry ride across the harbor to Flaxmill Bay ($7 return trip) and did a couple of hikes over there, which were enjoyable. There is not much of a town at Flaxmill or Cooks Beach Township. Whitianga seemed like a nice town,

There are good enough shops which I needed even it is a small town. Beautiful beach and nice local person.
