The Space
Land Haus has two cozy bedrooms where you will sleep in absolute comfort under fluffy duvets and nice linens and if you have children, teenagers, or additional travellers, there is a third area with a double/single bunk bed and a relaxation/play area.
High-speed WiFi and each bedroom has a work area .
There is air conditioning and room-darkening window coverings for the midnight sun. In winter the windows provide solar power, the geothermal system provides warmth and the cozy wood stove makes your stay a true retreat.
Bathrooms are stocked with locally made shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, plush and waffle towels, bathrobes and hairdryers, as well as a few smaller toiletries if needed.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, a professional gas hob and exhaust fan, a dishwasher, an oven, a microwave, a toaster, an air fryer, a blender, a Brita filter, a filter coffee machine, a French press, and a milk frother. For ambitious cooks, the kitchen island is equipped with many extras. The open plan dining room comfortably seats six and the view from the wood burning stove is the focal point of the cosy living area .
The laundry area has a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board.
A well-located covered patio where you can watch the sunrises while sipping your morning coffee is a popular and perfect spot for Northern Lights viewing. There are two fire pits ; one by the house with a picnic table, ideal for keeping warm while the Northern Lights appear, and one by the river bank. Many locals and tour operators look for the Northern Lights from Burma Road as it is a prime location.
Your Host
Angela lives on the ground floor in a completely separate apartment with her own parking space and entrance. Other than looking after the animals or the garden, you won't notice she is on site. Respecting our guests' privacy is our top priority, however we are always available by phone or text if you have any questions or concerns. And if you'd like to say hello, Angela would love to meet you while walking her dogs, riding her horses or in the garden or greenhouses!
The Surrounds
Land Haus is situated on a large acreage surrounded by boreal forest, pastures with native flora, hiking trails and the Yukon River, a spectacular part of the site. The end of Burma Road is a local spot to start or end your river trip, the back eddy offers a safe place to jump in if you dare! Beavers are frequently sighted as their lodge is a kilometre upstream and is a great place to watch the annual Yukon River Quest participants paddling. Foxes, coyotes, moose and wolves roam the area and you may be lucky enough to see them!
Land Haus is 25 minutes from Whitehorse city centre and Erik Nielsen Airport, and 15 minutes from Eclipse Nordic Hotsprings , Bean North Coffee Roaster and Café in the Woods , the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and the nearby Forest Preserve which offers great marked hikes.
