This is an excellent base for exploring Glacier National Park, especially its west side. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with outside seating areas in front and in back. Note that this is basically a wilderness lodge. The access road and the parking lot are unpaved. The cell phone signal is spotty at best, as is the complimentary WiFi signal. But this was part of the charm of the place. It’s supposed to be like this. I’ll gladly trade the constant cellular tether to the outside world for the morning visit by an inquisitive squirrel and the incredible view of the night sky from the parking lot. If you can’t make the same trade, this might not be the place for you.
The office is the social hub of the lodge. It offers games and cozy seating upstairs and a relaxing space for breakfast downstairs. The food is basic but good - a hot choice like a breakfast burrito or sandwich, three types of cereal, fresh fruit, bagels and bread (even gluten free), yogurt, juice,’milk, and even huckleberry jam. They also loan out bear spray if you’re heading into the wilderness on a hike.
I have no hesitation in recommending this lodge to family and friends. It’s simple, unassuming, quiet, safe, charming, and exactly what you’d expect in a wilderness lodge.
