Contemporary Home on Stillwater River. Near Whitefish, Kalispell & Glacier Park

The Stillwater House has everything you want for your Montana vacation!

The Stillwater House is located in open fields on the bank of the Stillwater River. To the North, West and East are expansive vistas of fields and mountains as far as the eye can see. The Southern exposure is wooded and allows scenic views of the meandering river.

You will thoroughly enjoy this central location in the Flathead Valley... Although the Stillwater House is only 10 minutes from downtown Whitefish and Kalispell shopping, it has a secluded feeling as though it is in a world of it's own.

The Stillwater House is located on fields and wooded river frontage. You will enjoy the large green lawn and the secluded hot-tub hidden beneath the river bank. The private dock allowing full access and use of the river is literally a stone's throw from the back deck.

Swim, fish and raft the river. Play horse-shoes in the shade of the spruce and fir trees. Explore the 1/2 mile of wooded river frontage, being sure to keep an eye out for deer, wild turkeys, beavers and even bald eagles. Bring your bikes (or rent, in town) for excellent mountain biking within riding distance of the house. Enjoy late evening fires and s'mores around the fire-pit in the back deck.

The Stillwater House is a contemporary home designed to maximize the resident's enjoyment of the beautiful surrounding environment. This house was designed with many picture windows to allow full enjoyment of the Montana experience, even while indoors! Whether it is the deer crossing the open field, or the sunrise/sunset over the mountains. You won't miss a thing!

First Floor: Kitchen, dining, and living room... This open floor plan invites complete involvement of the whole group in the activities. The floorplan was designed to encourage togetherness and group interaction. The Stillwater House is perfect for summer entertaining! Even while cooking and barbequing, no one will feel left out! The kitchen is fully stocked and includes two refrigerators, a gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee grinder and Bunn coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, and every utensil you'll need. The kitchen is even stocked with basic spices and condiments, as well as paper towels. If you'd like, arrangements can be made with the owner to purchase any food items prior to your arrival. The first floor also offers a 42 inch TV with satellite service and a computer with internet access, also a Bang & Olufsen stereo system! The living room opens up through 4 sliding glass doors to the south facing deck overlooking the river. Also on the first floor is a half bath for your convenience.

Second Floor: Up the contemporary staircase are 4 bedrooms, two full baths, a common room, and a theater room.

The master bedroom features a king size bed. This room has 10' picture windows that look out over the river to the South and Big Mountain to the North. Adjoining the master bedroom is a full bathroom that includes a water closet, shower and separate garden tub. The master bath also has a small balcony. Linens and towels are provided.

The second bedroom sleeps two on a full size bed.

The third and fourth bedrooms each have bunk beds with full on the bottom and twin on top. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th bedrooms surround a 'common room'. The common room has a comfortable hide a bed with a memory foam mattress.

Adjoining the common room is a second full bath.

The theater room includes a large, comfortable sectional couch, 82 inch Sony TV, satellite, surround sound, and DVD player. You can keep the shades drawn for the complete theater experience or open them up for a full view of Big Mountain. We provide a quality queen sized air mattress that can sleep two in the theater room.

A stay in the Stillwater House will prove, it is the Last Best Place!

Beautiful getaway in Montana
This is one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in! The location is breathtaking, with views of trees and mountains all around. The property feels remote, but a short 8 mins drive to shops/restaurants. The outdoor space is amazing, the kids played outside well into the evening and enjoyed watching the deer through the fields. The house had absolutely everything we needed in terms of bedding, towels , kitchen ware and games for the kids. The hot tub is so relaxing with views of the river, and the kids loved the big theatre room for movie nights. Brant was a wonderful host, who met us at the house for a tour, and he checked in with us before we left. It is a lovely touch to get to meet the owners of such a gorgeous property. We have agreed this will be a yearly visit for us, the kids are already looking forward to going back next year! Thanks so much for having us in your home!

Great for our big family!
Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fit our family of 12 to gather and celebrate the holidays together. Hosts were right next door and super responsive. They greeted us in person and walked us thru their home so we could enjoy all the amenities… hot tub, games, media, kitchen with so many appliances and basics. We were there for the holidays and they had it fully decorated and a gorgeous tree. Cozy and felt like home. Thanks for a Christmas to remember.

An amazing, beautiful, quiet and peaceful home
Brant’s home was exactly as described. I led a hiking and yoga retreat here for 5 nights with 9 adults. The location was perfect for being in nature. We picked apples from the trees, watched the sunrise and sunset, star gazed, took morning walks, and practices yoga and chilled out in the spacious living room/dining room. The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs, which was a lot. We loved soaking in the tub and walking down to the river too. Brant is an excellent and helpful host and was extremely responsive to some minor issues that came up during our stay. When I come back to this area, I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay
We were looking for a large place to accommodate multiple families on our trip and the Stillwater property was absolutely perfect! The youngest just turned 4, all the way up to grandparents and there was plenty of space for all of us! Not to mention all the extra activities outside for us to use as well. The large island was perfect for us to make meals at and the large table to sit and enjoy! The only minor issue we had was the flies (it’s the season and completely understandable) and it took me a bit to get used to which light switch changed which lights. But the owner Brant was close by and checked in with us to give us a tour when we first arrived and was very helpful with giving us ideas on food and places to see! We didn’t have much time to spend down by the water but did get a chance to go in at least once. It’s a perfect little piece in a quiet area yet close enough to get to what we came to see in Glacier. Definitely recommend and I know if we get another chance to make a family trip to Glacier we will definitely be staying there again! Thanks Brant!

Our family booked this property for our annual Camp Cada. Usually only grandchildren can come, but parents were invited this year. This location was perfect for our needs. More than spacious enough for 12 of us, everyone had a comfortable place to sleep, play and rest. The older kids loved the board game cupboard and stayed up late playing. The yard is huge, large enough for tag and nerf wars. Loved the walking access to Stillwater River for swimming. The kitchen is filled with every appliance needed. Brant was kind enough to teach us how to use the Traeger. We had the best ribs ever. Property is centrally located outside of Whitefish, and within an hour's drive to many attractions including West Glacier National Park entrance. Our family was able to experience many of the opportunities there including the Road to the Sun and white water rafting. It was so nice to come "home" to our temporary home. We had such a good time. Thank you so much for sharing. We hope to come again.

A relaxing stay by the river
This is an awesome property that has all the amenities of the listing and more. When I arrived, Brant, the owner, met me for a walkthrough of the property. He was extremely friendly and helpful and left lots of info in a binder for future perusal. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully equipped and there were plenty of towels and necessities for our stay. It was a short walk to the hot tub and the river. The only thing to be aware of is that the fire pit on the porch has no covering so can be a bit of a hazard to anyone who doesn’t see it while walking across the deck. The river has a dock which is private and makes access easy. all in all, my family had a great stay and we look forward to coming back!

My family and I enjoyed staying in this spacious property right on the river. The location is close to Glacier National Park, our primary destination. We also enjoyed time at Flathead Lake, Whitefish and Kalispell. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming and showed us around and shared recommendations for food and entertainment nearby. Property was clean with a lot of nice amenities including a canoe and hot tub! My only wish is that we could have stayed longer.

Excellent location to visit Glacier National Park and surrounding areas
The Stillwater house was a great property to enjoy the wonders of Montana and Glacier National Park. The occasion for our visit was to celebrate my 40th birthday and total guests were 5 adults. The house is about 40 mins from the West Glacier entrance and very close to the amenities in Whitefish and Kalispell. The house was very well equipped, kitchen met our needs for home cooked group meals, the patio and common areas were perfect spaces to reconnect with friends. Brant wasn’t able to meet us in person, but was easily reached via text and gave us a nice follow up call at the end of our trip. I highly recommend this location, easy access to the park, well stocked for quiet game nights at home, or just relaxing enjoying the view from the yard or living room. Quiet location surrounded by farms, a stream, and deer.

Family vacation for 9
We stayed here in July 2022 as a group of 9: my husband and I and our three sons, aged 15, 16 and 21, along with my brother and sister-in-law and their two daughters, aged 14 and 7. The house was a perfect spot to serve as our "home base" for our various excursions each day, and though it was 10-15 minutes to get to either Kalispell or Whitefish we enjoyed the quietness of the location. We also saw some wildlife each morning as we were enjoying our coffee, something you wouldn't see closer to town. The bedrooms (except for the master) are small, as some other reviewers have noted, but worked just fine for us. The second "couple" room only has a full size bed, so as long as you like to cuddle with your sleeping partner you'll be okay. :) Brant (owner) met us at the home upon arrival and gave us a quick tour, filling us in on everything we needed to know about the house. He went out of his way to help us feel comfortable, and quickly addressed the only issue we had during our stay. We noticed a large wasp nest on one side of the house, and after notifying him he took care of it right away. We would definitely stay here again. We didn't even get the chance to use the hot tub, media room, or swim in the river, so hopefully if we can get back up here next time we can try them out!

We stayed here with our extended family (11 total). Found the house ready as promised and freshly cleaned. The owner greeted us and showed us around the property and house and offered a few suggestions for activities and restaurants. Kitchen was great for preparing and serving the meals for the large group. Enjoyed spending time on the patio and playing games in the yard. The house was comfortable and generally clean. But could use a few updates and general upkeep, but nothing that would prevent us from staying here again.

What a gem of a property!
Our family (of 5) traveled from MN along with our friends (a family of 7) and stayed here together. The house suited us perfectly! Our kids’ ages ranged from 6-15 years old and this house had something for everyone! The two bedrooms with bunk beds and the pull out sofa outside of them worked awesome for the kids. The only thing that was kind of a bummer regarding bedrooms and having two families is that one couple slept in the master bedroom that was super roomy and had its own bathroom while the second couple (us) had a tiny bedroom and we kept hitting our knees on the closet doors trying to get around the bed. Also didn’t realize it was right by all the kids’ rooms. Oh well! Very little time was spent here so it was fine (although taking the bifold closet doors off would make for more walking room ;) The yard was very nice and well maintained and we were supplied with bean bag boards and croquet with we all enjoyed. There was also a nice deck, grill, fire pit and overhead mobile gas heater (which came in handy during the chilling days/nights). We enjoyed sitting down on the dock and if the weather was warmer, would have loved to jump in the river that runs behind the property. But...we were too wimpy. ;) We also enjoyed sitting down in the hot tub, although it wasn’t functioning quite right and got really dirty looking. Luckily our friends that we were traveling with have a pool and hot tub at home and are pretty knowledgeable and handy. They were able to clean the filter a bit and that seemed to help clear it some. Kids played some of the many game options, including chess! They also had a blast watching movies in the theater room! On our last day there, a decent sized black bear walked right past the deck and most of us were able to get a good look at if before it was spooked by the dads hollering “Bear!” to alert the kids (who were all playing indoors that day due to the yucky weather) so they could get a look. 😆 We also saw LOTS of deer every day, turkeys, a great horned owl, and plenty of birds/squirrels. Mama and baby deer came and ate from the apple trees, and played in the yard each morning. ❤️ We met both of the owners and they were super kind and helpful, giving us recommendations for places to eat and as well as nearby hiking paths. Love the design of the home and it suited our family very well! I would definitely go back and highly recommend it! Thanks Tonya and Brandt for all of your hospitality! 😃
