The Neighborhood:
Virginia's Northern Neck is a peninsula surrounded by unique and beautiful marshes, creeks, the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay. You'll find many opportunities to explore all the nooks and crannies and get out on the water.
Close to several mid-Atlantic cities yet tucked into a cove on the Chesapeake in the small town of White Stone, this vacation rental is the perfect place for gathering family or friends. It is ideally situated at the end of a quiet country lane with only one other home in sight. Launch complimentary kayaks, paddleboards, or canoe from our dock.
Not a paddler? Relax on the dock with a good book, enjoy eagle sightings and jumping fish, or sip on a good drink and consider how fortunate you are to be here.
For dinner you could whip up a gourmet meal in the large and fully stocked kitchen, or head to the River Market for takeout lunch or dinner. From fresh bread, pastries, and cookies daily to soups, sandwiches, salads, pizza, ribs, crab cakes, crab boils, and barbecue, they have options everyone is sure to enjoy. They also have a full selection of imported cheeses, wines, and beer.
Many local restaurants nearby as well, including Adrift in town, owned by a local who trained at The Inn at Little Washington, a renowned restaurant and Inn near Shenandoah.
In the evenings, your entertainment can be as simple as stargazing, or head just down the road to the Windmill Tiki Bar for drinks, dinner, and a beautiful sunset to cap off the night.
When you're ready to explore the area more fully, you will be surprised that this quaint rural town offers many gastronomical and cultural opportunities. Fine dining at Adrift is not to be missed. Also, visit the Allure Art Center, take in a show at the Lancaster Playhouse, pick up fresh farm items at local farmers' markets and small shops like The Old Farm Truck in White Stone, and grab some house made donuts at Chesapeake Donut Shop.
For rainy days, head over to Compass Entertainment in Irvington. This amusement center has indoor games, putt-putt, a climbing wall, a movie theater, a bar, and a restaurant. Kids of all ages love it!
You may also enjoy exploring the Northern Neck and its many designated "Trails," such as the Oyster Trail, the Wine Trail, the Water Trail, the Artisan Trail and, not to be outdone, the Coastal Waterfowl Trail.
Just a short list of the many things to do and see in the Northern Neck. So, relax here, where you are more likely to rub elbows with oystermen and artists than lawyers and lobbyists. Camden Cove beckons you to slow down, breathe the salt air, and live like a local. You may even decide to become one.
