Our stay was very relaxing and we had a great view of the water. The owners were fantastic and allowed us to explore the beautiful property. We enjoyed all of the amenities that came with the house including kayaks, fishing rods, fire pit, etc. We had a great time and plan to return!
This is our 3rd year staying at the Lizard Sniffer. It is always very clean and peaceful. We love being able to walk the trails on their land and this year they let us use a golf cart to see even more of the trails. We also rode their horses which was a huge plus. The hosts are very nice and friendly. We will be back next year for our annual trip.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in the Lake House. Spent mornings with a cup of coffee on the back patio watching the geese, turtles, beaver, and fish. Lots of time walking the trails and kayaking on the lake. Thank you for a perfect vacation.
This was our second time staying there. It is very peaceful. Just a short trip to Durham town off-road from the house. Beautiful views and lots of trails to walk. We’ll be back again!
The lake house was clean and well stocked. The AC was amazing we actually had to turn it up because it was so cold. We enjoyed having the golf cart to explore. If you are planning to use the loft it is not for older guests we made the younger adults stay up there. If you are going to a wedding at the corry house it is only about 12 min away the check in was easy and check out was great. We can’t wait to come back planning for Fall to do some fishing
We had the best weekend at Lizard Sniffer. None of us wanted to leave. We played in the lake, rode horses and explored all of the trails on the property. The lake house had everything we needed and Randy and Lisa were super hospitable. It was clean and cozy. We will definitely be back!
We booked the lake house for a wedding we had to attend and stayed longer to turn it into a vacation! This place is amazing! The house is just big enough and the lake was a lot if fun! I caught an 8LB bass out of it! Randy is an excellent communicator and him and his wife went out of their way to get my wife on a horse and give us a golf cart to ride the property! Can’t wait to come back! If you are looking for a relaxing but not boring family getaway trip, this is the place to do it!
We loved staying here. We were here 2 days and it rained most of the first day. We caught crappie and bass. Bass are catch and release. We had no problem with that because we like crappie more. You could not ask for a better host than Randy. He offered us a golf cart but all we wanted to do is fish. We would definitely stay here again. If we stayed here again we would make it for more days>
The lake house was exactly as advertised. Peaceful with a small lake right on our doorstep. Randy the host is super and provides little extras like kayaks, paddle board, floaters and fishing gear all to make your stay fulfilled for any activities you want. A cart was also provided to explore the miles of trails on the property. Add to the fact that the property is pet friendly made this a great stay. Welcome package included a big bowl of chocolates which again made this very welcoming. The house itself it clean and cool and provides all the home felt luxuries. If you are traveling to Georgia give this place a look, you won’t be disappointed.
Unique property. Clean, quiet. Loved fishing in the pond. Beautiful and creative architecture on the property. Great place for equestrian fans.
I would love to come back!
Note: the lake house is right on the lake - that is shared by all visitors to Lizardsniffer. If it was a hot day with lots of visitors it may feel more public than private. During our stay there were a few people who came by to fish and it remained a very private location for us.
only thing that could have made the stay better , would have been fair weather. Rained to time we were there, but it was still great for my wife and 2 daughters. I wish I could have explored the property more. They loaned is a golf car and if the weather had been good they were going to let my girls ride horses. great people to rent from. The beds were very comfortable . the bathrooms had bidets, and the shower in the master was to die for. I could have lived in there. My dog , about the size of a lab enjoyed the lake very much as well. they had even put out dog beds and dog treats for our k9. Can't beat it for a retreat 50 miles from my home.
