Cockle Cottage is is an ex fisherman's cottage that dates from 1616 and is located on Johnsons Yard off Baxtergate right in the centre of Whitby just 1 min walk to the harbour & swing bridge
Accommodation is over 3 floors with exposed beams and central heating in every room.
Lounge and kitchen on the ground floor has full sized cooker, Microwave, Fridge, Smart TV (log onto your own movies), freesat and DVD player.
First Floor - Spacious twin bedroom with shower room/wc next door.
Second Floor - Master Bedroom has a double bed, Modern onyx wash and basin and smart TV.
Our cottage is furnished to a high standard using quality appliances and top quality furnishings. It is available all year round and we have central heating in all rooms. All gas and electricity is included. There is on street parking 10 mins walk away or the long stay carpark is less than 2 mins walk. Sorry but no dogs allowed.
Whilst you stay in Cockle Cottage you can experience the wonderful beauty of the historic Whitby town center. See the place that inspired Bram Stoker for his novel Dracula, explore the ruins of Whitby Abbey which was the inspiration for Carthax Abbey in the Dracula novel. Whitby host a variety of music festivals including Whitby Goth Weekend which happens twice a year, 1960's music festival, Whitby Folk Festival and also the world famous Bram Stoker's International Film Festival where you get to see the worlds finest horror movies and experience goth music as well. Whitby is famous for its sailing being the home of Captain Cook, there is a Captain Cook museum where you can learn more about this famous British explorer. There is Whitby Reggata where you get to see some of the worlds most beautiful nautical vessels. There is also a famous lifeboat museum where you can learn of the daring rescues that have happened over the years in and around Whitby. And whilst in Whitby you have to sample our fish and chips which are the finest in England. We are a short drive from Robin Hoods Bay and a 30-40 minute drive away from the idyllic seaside town on Scarborough.
