Venture out into the wonderful streets of this Gothic town, made famous by Bram Stoker’s novel ’Dracula’. Take a walk in the old part of town, dating back to the 1700s, and explore the cobbled streets with its bazaars, cafés and pubs, or walk up the famous 199 steps to the church of Saint Mary for an amazing view over the town. Take a boat trip out to sea for a unique view of the Yorkshire Heritage Coast and maybe even catch a glimpse of whales, dolphins and seals, or hop on the open top bus which makes regular tours of the town. Venture further afield to seek out some of the beautiful villages, coves and bays that are dotted along the coast. Take a step back in time to the days of pirates and smuggling with hidden gems such as Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.
Head inland to admire the natural beauty of the North York Moors National Park, with mile upon mile of nature trails and walks such as the Cinder Track and the Cleveland Way. Visit stunning waterfalls such as Falling Foss, or even take a ride on the steam train which ventures into ’Heartbeat’ country and the quaint village of Goathland.
